RONNIE JAMES DIO Diagnosed With Stomach Cancer

Wendy Dio, the wife and manager of legendary heavy metal vocalist Ronnie James Dio (HEAVEN & HELL, BLACK SABBATH, RAINBOW), has released the following statement to BLABBERMOUTH.NET:
"Ronnie has been diagnosed with the early stages of stomach cancer. We are starting treatment immediately at the Mayo Clinic. After he kills this dragon, Ronnie will be back on stage, where he belongs, doing what he loves best, performing for his fans.
"Long live rock and roll, long live Ronnie James Dio.
"Thanks to all the friends and fans, from all over the world that have sent well wishes. This has really helped to keep his spirit up."

It's indeed good that the doctors caught it at the early stage.
I wish him to get well soon and to continue rocking. He's a real legend.

That is the key to treating and elimating many types of cancer. He seems to be very strong for his age (67, I believe), so he most likely has an excellent chance for recovery.

After he's killed this dragon", not "if he kills" or anything. According to that quote, it's like 100% that he WILL be alright... I sure hope so.
Then again, those quotes seem messed up pretty good. I don't know about the usage of the latter quotation mark if the paragraph changes, in English language. In Finnish, we wouldn't use it, so it might be alright. Though, does the doctor really suddenly go, "Long Live Rock 'n' Roll! Long live Dio!"?
<EDIT> Aw, stupid me. It was from Dio's wife, not from a doctor. It should be alright now. And, what's important, RJ should be alright! o/

These days cancer is very curable especially if caught early. He may not even have to undergo Chemo, which is sometimes as bad as the disease. He is healthy to begin with, so he should be able to beat this thing without much trouble.

We can only hope so. He does seem very strong for a man of his age so we can be optimistic.

But I'm glad they discovered it in an early stage, and Dio has always been in good shape. He'll kill this dragon with his awesomeness.
