Blind Guardian is bullshit. :x

I would throw it in the trash if Kai Hansen wasn't singing on the new disc.

I've heard NOTHING to the effect of a Kai Hansen return visit, he hasn't done studio work with them since 1992.

Ragehead93, not 91.

And I do like Blind Guardian. Especially their albums in the 90s.

Ok, who's behind this one?

Anyway, I love Blind Guardian and can't wait for their new one. Any guesses as to what it's gonna sound like?

d'oh.
How did I not notice the 14 post count.
Yeah, I had figured you would enjoy stuff like Imaginations and Somewhere Far Beyond.
They released a "Preview" so to speak of the new album a few years ago on the video game "Sacred II", the song was "Sacred", and was supposed to be an idea of what the new music would sound like.

It won't be on the album, but this is what the albums supposed to sound like (or at least what it was supposed to sound like a few years ago)

I lost all hope for them after their last abortion, but even so, I'll give the new album a shot.

Bah.
It wasn't Imaginations, but there were some great moments on that album (The opening scream of "This will Never End")

I didn't think any of the songs were particularly bad, they were all above average, they just weren't tremendous

I still don't know why are you comparing albums to Imaginations. I actually didn't like that one.

That's pretty generally accepted as one of their best albums.
Everything Between Somewhere Far Beyond and A Night at the Opera is brilliant though.

Have liked the song Sacred more than anything on A Twist basically. Quite possibly the worst Guardian album ever. I also recognize the bombastic feel of ANatO but don't think it's the best Guardian album... the three released just before that are. ^^

Anyway, looking very much forward to the new one, especially the song Wheel of Time which Hansi describes being similar toThe Script for My Requiem and And Then There Was Silence - possibly my two most favorite Guardian songs! o/

Best BG albums yet for me:

Imaginations from the Other Side: one of the best albums of all times.

Nightfall in Middle-Earth: powerfull, epic, vast...

I've heard some great things about the upcoming album, I can't wait to hear the end results when it comes out.

according to the web site I guess their drummer has already laid down all his tracks and Hansi is finishing up the vocals.

Agreed!

Though I also love Somewhere Far Beyond just as much.

The last album I really enjoyed was NIME. The last two, I would omit my opinion.

This sums it up for me, too. :) Imaginations is quite possibly on my top 5 albums ever.

Actually, for those who want to discover BG, I hardly advise viewing their live DVD: Imaginations from the Looking Glass!

For two reasons:

- One: fuck, this is art, the crowd is amazing (Valhalla!!!!!!! The Bard's song!!!!! And Then There Was Silence!!!!), perfectly filmed.

- Two: Perfect setlist: all the best song of BG (apart from Punishment Divine, I never found it that good): but otherwise, awesome and perfect setlist!!!!

Well, gotta take some listening sessions again of Punishment Divine...

But, yeah, that's true, ATTWS is really better in the studio, but it's still damn epic and wooooow!!!!

But still, Valhalla!!!!!!!

I attended one gig during the ANATO tour. They played quite well, but a bit apatic. Nevertheless, it was a good show, a bit short ( one hour and a half including the encores), but not bad at all.Great stage, by the way.
