One of the hidden gems of Power Metal. A really great band with a unique singer.
Their first is by many considered their best. And it really is a sign of the things to come in the future. Although the band hadn't refined their sound back than it is still really good with a lot of catchy tunes and great melodies.
Chapters From A Vale Forlorn is in my opinion better and a more refined album in my opinion. They found their sound in this one and with "Enter the Glade" they wrote my favourite Falconer Song.
The Sceptre Of Deception saw the depature of their lead singer and band trademark Mathias Blad due to his musical carrere. He was replaced by Kristoffer Göbel and this is why most of the people dislike this one. And it is true. His voice really didn't fit the music. Also there are less Folk elements in this one compared to the first 2 though they aren't completely gone. This is also a concept album. I actually like this. I think it is a nice transition from Blad to Göbel. Blad even does some backing vocals and sings on the Song "Child Of Innocense". But I wouldn't recommend it.
With Grime Vs Grandeur they abandoned Folk Metal completely. But that isn't by any means a bad thing. What we get here is a solid Power Metal that really is one of the better PM albums out there. While Göbel tried to emulate Blad on "Sceptre Of Deception" at times he really shines here beacause he can sing like he wants to.
Northwind marked the return of Mathias Blad and the return of the Folk Elements. This album is a real masterpiece and my favourite Falconer Album by far. Some of their best songs, great melodies and really chatchy choruses. Blad sounds better than ever. And they even did a new version of Child Of The Wild from Grime Vs. Grandeur. I'd defenitely recommend this.
Whith Among Beggars and Thieves they returned to their roots, scaled downt the keyboards and Folk Elements and made a more basic Power Metal album. And while it still is solid, I liked Northwind better and Mathias singing was WAY better on Northwind. Still a good album.
I would recommend you the debut, Chapter From A Vale Forlorn, Northwind and Among Beggars and Thieves. So basicly all the albums with Blad.

Yes, they have some swedisch stuff but most of it is bonus Material.
From The Blad Albums?
I'll try:
From the debut:
Upon The Grave Of Guilt, The Past Still Lives On, The Quest for the Crown, Mindtraveler
From the 2nd One:
Decadence Of Dignity, Enter The Glade, Portals Of Light, We Sold Our Homesteads
Northwind (this will be hard):
Nortwind, Waltz With the Dead, Spirit of the Hawk, Legend and the Lore, Home of the Knave
Among Beggars and Thieves:
Field Of Sorrow, Carnival Of Disgust, Dreams and Pyres, Pale Light Of The Silver Moon
But again, this are the songs that I like best.

Ditto. I can't understand why those guys aren't more popular, they absolutely kick ass.
If you're gonna get one of their albums, you must get either one of the first two ones (Falconer and Chapters From A Vale Forlorn) or one of the last two ones (Northwind and Among Beggars and Thieves).
I'd recommend that you get their first album, the self-titled Falconer. It's that kind of album that you'll love as soon as you start listening to it. The same goes for CFAVF, but I think Falconer has more instant hits. Now their last two albums are more elaborated, you'll probably like them more when you've given them more than a single spin. Those albums are all solid. The albums without Blad are pretty good too, but not as good. If you're looking for specific songs, I'd suggest
Royal Galley and
Substitutional World.
Regarding the lyrics being in swedish, don't worry, the songs are great! Actually, I think those songs are the ones I like the most. Heck, I think I can actually sing
Per Tyrssons Döttrar I Vänge!
I recommend them to everyone cause they're awesome. Get their albums, you won't regret.
