So where does Black Sabbath/ H&H go from here?

With the sad news of Dio's passing Heaven and Hell pretty is pretty much over. The band was all about playing the Dio-Era Music and without Dio I doubt they will continue it. Maybe they'll do a tribute show or 2 with Rob Halford, that would be cool. But I don't think they will continue it after that.

As for Black Sabbath, I think the band is pretty much dead now. I HIGHLY doubt that they'll ever reunite with Ozzy with that lawsuit going on. And no matter what Iommi sais, it is very unlikely that he or Geezer on good terms with Ozzy. And I think a reunion with Ozzy would be disastrous. I mean, what happened the last time they've tried it? They did one big tour, recorded 1 new song and after that they've been degraded to play Paranoid and Warpigs on Ozzfest tours. The 4 original Sabs don't have the creative chemistry together to make new music. At separate times, Geezer, Ozzy, and Tony have pretty much acknowledged this.

Maybe they could do something like Heaven & Hell with Tony Martin. Call it Headless Cross, Tyr, Eternal Idol or Cross Purposes. I think it would be great because now after so many years have passed since the Tony Martin era a lot of fans would give those albums another chance and they could finally show the fans how good those 5 albums really are. I'd love to see it.

There is also a chance for another Iommi/Gillan collaboration. Although this is unlikely due to Gillan being in Deep Purple. But weren't they news a few weeks back about him and Iommi working on new stuff.

Or they get someone completely new and completely reinvent Black Sabbath.

What do you think?

I agree with you. Heaven and Hell died with Dio. Black Sabbath reunion with Ozzy would be cool, but I doubt, that it will happen.

I hope Iommi makes an earnest effort at a solo career, or a Black Sabbath reunion with Ozzy.

He's the best guitarist Heavy Metal has ever seen, and it would be a crime if we weren't hearing new material from him.

Black Sabbath shall continue, H&H shall not as a sign of respect (or at least not immediatelly)

I highly doubt that the Ozzy reunion happens as explained above.

Maybe not, it's highgly unlikely for sure; but in case it happens, they should make something concerning RJD like, I dunno, a tribute album :?

First off. I think we've seen quite enough Tony Martin Sabbath.

As good as those album were or weren't, Tony Martin just isn't a very good singer, Tony and Geezer (And Bill, if he's healthy/up to it) should put out a notice that they are interested in forming a new band, do a worldwide search ala Dragonforce, or get someone well known who they haven't worked with, and put out NEW MATERIAL.

He's boring and unextrodinary, compared with Dio, Ozzy, or even Ian Gillan, he's nothing special, certainly not one of the top 5-6 vocalists in metal, which is who Iommi should be working with.

Are you saying that Ozzy is a better singer than Tony Martin? Ozzy Osbounre? Really? Are we talking about the same Ozzy? The Ozzy I know is a mumbling drug victim.

Wow, that was horrible. Sorry, I just can't stand his voice. To me he will always be the worst Black Sabbath singer. I give them all the credit in the world for "creating" Heavy Metal in those days but I just can't listen to his voice.

You can post whatever Ozzy-Sabbath song you want, It won't make me change my mind. I can't stand Ozzy Osbournes voice. To me he is the worst Sabbath singer. I give Sabbat all the credit in the world for being the forefathers of Metal and laying the foundation for Metal as we know it, but that still doesn't change my opinion about Ozzy. To me he is, was and has always been a horrible singer.

You must be kidding me ;) Tony is a way better singer than Ozzy. I also prefer those albums they did with Tony than Ozzy...

Headless cross, TYR, Cross purposes.. all great albums!

Clearly why the more than half of the Cross Purposes live album was Ozzy-era songs, right?

What does that have to do with anything? Of course they're going to use Ozzy Era stuff live becuase this was their most popular stuff. Same for the 2 live albums with Dio.

And it pisses me of that you seem to treat your opinion as a fact.

I'm just arguing that the material on the Ozzy-Era albums is far superior to the Tony Martin era material.

That may be the case. And I'm not arguing that. I never said that the Ozzy-era stuff was bad or that the Tony Martin albums are better. I think the old Sabbath albums are great. I only said that I can't stand Ozzy Osbourne's singing on them and that to me Martin is the better singer.

And what you're doing is saying "TONY MARTIN-ERA SABBATH IS BAD AND TONY MARTIN IS A BAD SINGER AND NOBODY WANTS TO SEE A TONY MARTIN REUNUION BECAUSE I SAID SO SO IT HAS TO BE FACT." There are a lot of people out there who would just love to see them reunite with Martin for another album.

I was more calling out Rage1979 on the Tony Martin albums are better.
It still confounds me that you prefer Tony Martin's voice, but I can accept that, kind of.

I actually would prefer they reunite as a power trio over Tony Martin.
Ward/Iommi/Butler. Ward is lead vocalist and drummer.

Every show starts with "It's alright". Then a bunch of new material, the ends with "Swinging the chain"

(Yes, I realize "It's Alright is a terrible song, but Swinging the Chain is pretty cool)
