Nobuo Uematsu

Here musicians can talk to each other about making music etc. Of course if you are not a musician you are still welcomed to this board, but the topics should somehow be about making music.

Yes, he really is brilliant.

I was surprised to see a thread with his name here.

He is quite the composer.

I thought many people would know him i'm a little bit disapointed hu hu...
But yeah it's a great man and composer, and i think songs like Liberi Fatali (FFVIII intro) would fit great to the new epic symphonic power hollywood fuckers of the holy sword metal by rhapsoguywish. Seriously this guy is simply great... I got all ost from VII to X.

Funny you should mention Liberi Fatali, that happens to be (IMO) one of the most phenomenally composed pieces of music i've heard lately. I make everyone listen to it. No one gets it. :(

No one gets it?????????? It's a symphonic masterpiece, simply incredible, one of the best music i've heard. But i also like songs like To Zanarkand or Aerith Theme... And i've never heard a keyboard solo like the one at the beginning of Hurry!(FFVII) Have you noticed??

I was surprised too. He is a very very good composer. His music makes the atmosphere of the FFs.

Did anyone noticed that Greensleves from the Classical Variations And Themes album from Tolkki sounds very much like Vamo' alla flamence from the Final Fantasy IX OST. The last one is a lot faster but they sound much alike.

I've uploaded the song so you can hear for yourselfs if you don't know it.

Not an orchestral piece, but how many people here have heard the intro song to FFX ('Otherworld')? I thought it was awesome when I first heard it. I was surprised to hear metal in a FF game :o
