Digitech RP80

Here musicians can talk to each other about making music etc. Of course if you are not a musician you are still welcomed to this board, but the topics should somehow be about making music.

Digitech RP80

Post by Luther_Harkon » Wed Apr 13, 2005 3:41 pm

I'm learning to play the guitar and I can play some Stratovarius songs (except the solos, to fuckin fast!), but I can't get the "perfect" distorsion with my Digitech RP80. It's a very good modelling processor, with expression pedal; but I don't really know which kind of setup I should use to get a distorsion similar to the used by Tolkki.

Thx!

Try ProCo's Rat...that's what i call a distortion...a serious one

I don't know about RP80, i have an RP300 by DigiTech, and there i can emulate cabinets and many other things, so i am able to experiment diferent kind of distortions. I normally use the Rectifier that comes in it.

But if you really want a serious distortion, try ProCo's Rat, you won't regret it, highly recomended.

That's an individual distortion pedal, made by ProCo.
Rat is the given name for these great pedal.
Morbid Angel's Trey Azagthoth uses it...just take a listen to his latest sound and you'll see what i'm talking about.
