Valve vs. Valvestate
All you guitarists out there, where do you stand in today's war between tube and solid state design guitar amps?

There is nothing, nothing at ALL, that can come even close to an all-tube guitar amp. Bass is an entirely different matter, but for guitars and for METAL, nothing will ever beat an all tube head, apart from another all-tube head. The low end, the warmth, the fullness, the rich harmonic overtones, the sweet singing solo sounds, the depth and clarity of clean sound, will never, EVER be replicated by any solid state design. Line 6 probably comes closest, but still, that's all too far.
