What is the more difficult stratosong to sing.?

Here musicians can talk to each other about making music etc. Of course if you are not a musician you are still welcomed to this board, but the topics should somehow be about making music.

Everyone can sing anything. I mean, how can you tell you're NOT singing the same song and singing it right if you may not be singing in the same key or with the same general style? A bit like guitarists trying to copy someone else's solos and sounds, if it's not out of tune and sounds ok, why not to just use your own style?

But anyway, some songs are more difficult than others if you want to keep up with the long, sustained notes for example, Fantasia is one of these monsters where I find it difficult to do this "let us all unIIIIIte" thing without vibrato. If I'd do a cover of this I'd probably find a more comfortable arrangement.

For register changes, I think the trickiest one for me if Hunting High and Low, dammit, it's working around my passagio most of the time and far from enjoyable to sing. ;)

Generally, Stratostuff is pretty easy to sing, the melodies are simple and there aren't many fast runs and arpeggios ;)

Probably songs which are of high octave/pitch such as the ones on ElementsI.

I'm Still Alive
SOS
Against the Wind (last note mainly)

I also like to point out that even though I don't sing that great, I still like to try to sing along with many of these songs. It's pretty cool
Somehow I still have an account...yay...?

Paradise is quite hard too. Beginning is low and chorus is very high. And if you drop the chrus one octave, it sounds quite weird :/

i have difficulty singing Destiny...my vocal range spans two and a half octaves, but the 2 full ones are both below the high C [the one that's one octave above middle C]. the half-octave is the four notes above high C, depends on which key tho, heh...Paradise is hard for me too, but not as hard as Destiny because the progression is gradual- beginning is low and progresses to mid-range and then up to high on the chorus...yeah. :D

Kotipelto is a great singer, my favourite, but listen to Forever, this is a very difficoult song for him, not the chorus, wich is perfect, but the verses, "i stand alone in darkness....". He cannot sing so "down"
So I think Forever is the most difficoult stratosong to be sung by Kotipelto

The only one I can't sing because it's very high it's I'm Still Alive, this verse:

"Masterplan of a new kind".

I can't sing it the right way. Let's hope I improve my voice.

Well any song that is high and loud is hard to sing. But i'd say that Vapaus (Liberty finnish it think, from Elements Pt.2 SE) it's pretty hard to sing... I think it's hard to play in finnish if you aren't a finn...

Off course, "Elements" is the most difficult Stratovarius' song to sing... What's about me, I could sing it if it would halftone below;I can sing all Strato songs besides someones from"Dreamspace", where Tolkki
used a processor to make his voice higher

Very smart. Somehow I found on YouTube live video of Dreamspace, and Tolkki didn't sing high sounds.
I can't sing these songs:
Dreamspace
Reign Of Terror
Shattered

The only live Dreamspace I've found is one with Kotipelto singing and he can't sing those high notes :)

I think that Learning to Fly is the harder one, just try the demo version (easy to find on youtube) and check how TK sounds

Father Time, and Forever Free, but more Father Time.

songs are not difficult to sing by how high are the notes. the difficult is in the technique, there are techniques to sing high notes easy.
there is a part of the voice registry that is to hard to sing, is the nearest notes from the chest voice to head voice.

To my brother, who sings Strato a lot, he told me it would be to reach very high notes. On the top of the list, "Find your own voice" "learning to fly" and "I'm still alive".
He does reach those notes very well sometimes though xD
