Well, I would like to know what is your drumkit composed by?

I hape a Pearl Export, all black, with 5 drums : 2 tomtom, 1 tom bass, a snare drum signature, a bass drum...a double pedal Eliminator and 3 cymbals (but will buy another in few weeks, just the time to save money to do it).

I'll post a pic of my drums in a week or two.

16"x18" and 18"x18" Floor toms
14"x5,5" Snare drum

Sabian AA Metal-X 13" Fusion Hats
Meinl Amun 20" Rock Ride
Zildjian A' Custom 18" Rock Crash
Sabian AAX 16" Explosion Crash
Meinl Raker 14" Lightning Crash
Sabian Mike Portnoy Signature 7" and 9" Max Splashes

And that's about it, pics will come as soon as I move my lazy ass and take them :D

My cheap Trax-drumset:

5 drums:
2 rack toms, floor tom, snare, and a bass drum.

2 unidentified, crappy cymbals.
One pair of three-times-repaired-with-tape Finest 7A drumsticks.

If I'd only have more money, I would buy a much better kit...

Here are pics from my old Pearl MMX set, loved the colours :D The new one looks quite the same way, but it's gray and has chrome hardware. I've a bit less cymbals too.

Nice setup you got there!

Although I must be honest, green isn't my favourite colour for drums :D

I spent all my money in it between approx. 13 and 17 years old :D I couldn't tell you how much it costed, around 10,000 euros maybe... A lot of it are christmas- or birthday-presents.

As I told you, I didn"t sped 10,000 euros, more than half of it are presents. And no, I never rcorded myself cause I have nothing to do it here, I don't even have my kit, it's at my (ex) girlfriend's house (not enough space in mine). But here I have a little 750€ Pearl Forum and some cymbals to practice a little so I might do it someday :)

I'd like a drumkit. Unfortunately I'm saving up to buy a contrabasso so that is unlikely to happen :D

Drums are very expensive instruments. I paid my Pearl Export 1620 €. I rather should had to buy a Jackson Randy Rhoads. It's only 700 €.

Indeed. Makes me sick when I see guys like Portnoy who have an incredibly large set FOR FREE :/

And besides they would have more than enough money to pay for them...

Yeah. But, the endorsing is only for great and famous drummers. :(

yeah :D

Anyway, drums are expensive but if you want to start you can buy cheap drumkits or cheap hihat and crashes etc...
So you can also spend few money if you want.
Then if you'd like to continue with drums you can buy the stuff you like, but i think that,in principle, you'll spend the same money as for other instruments.

You can't gig with only one guitar, need backup, so it doubles the price. Then you need something else, a good amp costs a thousand or two, and all the effects and accessories you need, including a practise amp and some cases and plugs and microphones for even home recording... When you finally have your dream rack you've spent 5000 dollars and then you get tired of it and want to try something new :D
