Hi, I'm Cyrille, lead guitarist from Winterland and I'll present my melodic metal band here!!!



Winterland was created in may 2005 from the passion for music of three actual members of the band : Guillaume (keyboards), Cyrille (guitar) et Adrien (lead vocals). After a long period of searching for a drummer and a bass guitar player, Benoist (bass guitar) and Paulo (drums) finally joined the band in September.

The band began to play its first songs, composed a few months earlier. Every members agreed to look for a second guitar player, in order to give more power to the music. Fabrice thus joined the band in June 2006. His arrival corresponded to the first main Parisian dates of the band with, inter alia, a concert at l'Espace Curial on the 2nd June 2006 with Niflheim and The Last Embrace (200 people), and a participation to the Heavenfest on the 8th July 2006, at la Maroquinerie (450 people).

The evolution of the music and the adhesion of many fans are now inciting the band to to release their first EP self-produced "The Snow Begins To Fall".

In its meteoric rise, Winterland is still writing new songs to diversify its live prestations and to offer new compositions to the fans. Inspired in particular by bands like Nightwish, Heavenly, Raintime or Symphony X, the music of the band is a blend of melodic metal, heavy metal, and symphonic metal. But it keeps a certain personality acquired by the musical diversity of the band's members.

Scary, your logo is similar to ours and your name is similar as well... but we have a different sound so it's good!

Interesting song structures too and I like the syncopation in places, but the guitars are just a little bit too loud. Where did you record the stuff on your myspace?

Where we've record it? At my home ^^ This is an extract form our first self-produced album. For the next we gonna do it on a recording studio of course!!

Yeah, that's what happened with us, first ep was recorded at our singer's place, then we got funding and recorded the album at a studio. Pity the low quality Myspace samples don't show the production as well as it should be... but even at a studio, it's not too great (this was recorded in Cyprus, and facilities there are not too great...)

Winterland will appear on the second compilation released by the fanzine Heavylaw.com, with other bands comming from all over the world. This compilation will be FREE (*). At the moment, the day of release is not defined, but it should be at the end of march.

Hello everybody!

A new dawn has come for Winterland. As you probably know, the band will soon come up to the Wildpath Studio (http://www.wildpath-studio.com) to record its first album.

For this occasion, the band will change its name to Silent Fall. This announcement may certainly surprise a lot of you, but you have to reckon that this decision was hard to take because we are using this name since 2005. In fact, another Winterland, coming from Germany, exists, and has already released two albums. This band owns the rights on the name, and that's why we can't continue to use it. In brief, our music will stay the same and we'll continue to play the songs that you already know, but when the album is released, you have to look for us at the S letter instead of the W letter ^^

This change goes hand in hand with the arrival of a new guitar player, Pierre Cabannes. Olivier and I have known him for more than a year, and he owns all the technical and scenic abilities required. Here is the line-up of Silent Fall during the recording:

The album's name will be Otherwise and will include about ten tracks along with Kill For Life, I wish, World of Secrets and Forever and Ever. This album will be kind of traditional speed melodic metal, blended with some progressive and death melodic parts. Don't expect to find as before the tracks that you already know. They have all been revisited to give a unity to this album. Furthermore, three guests may appear on this album. We can't announce their names at the moment, but there should be a female singer, a keyboard player and a guitar player.

We'll give you more news as soon as possible. At the moment, just know that we'll be back on the road at the end of the year and that we'll try to release the album at the same time. Finally, a new website will appear soon. You can already see below the new logo.
