I do not think that there is nothing wrong with rap or listening to it. I like it. I've gotten very familiar with it since my brother makes beats for his friend and the have a group of their own. They make great music!

Making good beats is by the way definitely as hard as making good metal or anything else. It's not plagarizing or anything. People who say it's easy, have not got a clue what they are talking about. Let's say that I'm not talking about the "R n' B (a.k.a. Timbaland stuff)" shit. That's just some kind of trend nowadays :) I think that best rap is not what gets well known. It's mostly that commercial crap made for money by the record companies. But not all :) Definitely not all.
