I haven't heard them, but John West is my favorite singer so i'm practically exploding to hear something from them.

Do they sound like Feinstein or are they their own thing?

Royal Hunt is great. They're keyboard-heavy melodic/neoclassic/progressive metal. My favourite album of theirs is the [John West-less] Paradox album and Fear [featuring John West], although one can't really go wrong with any of their albums.

It's rare to see someone who actually enjoys/knows Royal Hunt.

They're really, really awesome. Quite different from most progressive metal bands like Dream Theater, you really need to listen to it a few times before you actually "understand" it.. I know I did, heh, I didn't like it at all at first.

I definately recommend anyone who can to listen to these guys. André Andersen is great :D

John West is just the best vocalist out there. I loved the Fear album and especially the titelsong, damn goosebumps all over. But the last two albums were not that great. The mission was still allright, but Eyewitness I didn't like at all.

Moving target and Paradox with DC Cooper are very good! And also the live album 1996 sounds amazing.
Changing skin from Andre Andersen is also very cool and in the same style of Fear, but with Kenny Lübke on vocals (sounds a bit like John West). So if you like Fear you probably like this one.

The solo project of John West Erthmaker is awesome, if you like his voice, you will like this album! :banana1:

I really love to hear Feinstein, how is that one?

The Feinstein album "Third Wish" is really really great. It's absolutely the most solid thing i've ever heard. Every song on the album could stand on its own; it's really obvious they didn't put any half-ass songs on the finished product.

It's got everything that's good about heavy metal in it; imagery, solos, and most of all, John West.

And plus it has really good production. It is SO worth buying. If you want, though, if you use AIM or something, i'll zip up some of the files and send them to you. :D

Thanks, but if it's that great I'll buy it. I have to own every good album with Joh West. :D

Bought Feinstein yesterday on a cd-fair here in the Netherlands for only 12 euros. First time listen and already like it. Will play it a lot in the following weeks.

I have all the albums too!! I've met Royal Hunt in april 2002 in Barcelona. I was there for business and I was invited to see the soundcheck, the show and talk with the band.
They are great musicians!

Great band, I remember Flying Finn (someone who used to post here and I wish still would) used to talk a lot about them, I was turned on to them by him and I wish I could find more of their albums around here.

Only Royal Hunt song I have heard is River of Pain. I love that song though. Unfortunately its not easy to get a hold of their music... for me anyways. :(
