......until today.

Today at my job i saw a 20-year-old Jens Johansson playing with Ninja Turtles.

Of course, because i'm an idiot, i assumed that maybe he had heard of Stratovarius.

"Wow, dude, how many times a day do people tell you that you completely look like Jens Johansson??"

I was met with the most bizarre look i'd ever received in my life. "Whaaat? Who??". So i filled him in, and we began to talk about various other things that came up.

Over the course of our conversation, i began to notice that the dude was pretty good-looking. I started wondering to myself...."Gee, i wonder if Jens is totally hot and i just never noticed?"

Just my random musing for the day.

Jens is the founder of Keyboard Shredding in Neoclassical Metal. He was a bad ass player back in the 80's and still holds his ground. It's hard to say anyone is better than the founder of the style. Same goes for Yngwie. These guys will always be on the top for me. Thanks for all your great solos and inspiration!

Everyone has their own preferences. Uli Jon Roth and Blackmore technically started neoclassical rock. Yngwie just took it to a new level. When I speak of a neoclassical metal, that's what I mean. Halen and Hendrix are bad ass, but I wouldn't relate them to Yngwie's style. Of course, Yngwie is a big Hendrix fan. Really, Jens is like the Yngwie of keyboards. I don't know why I started on this. Anyway, Jens Rules!

Jens does rule. But......SLIGHTLY a bit more elevated in my view (although by virtually nothing) is Vitalij Kuprij.

I was pointing to other rock stíles, not neoclassical rock.

Theres some resemblance, definitely-the nose, height&weight,complexion,dimples, hair color&length. Except TTs eyes are blue&my Ex's are brown.He is also 15 years older than TT. Yea-I made the mistake of marrying a much older man--there's a lesson to be learned from that.

I guess i have nothing intelligent to add to this particular offshoot of conversation except that my ex....i mean, the guy i'm dating now....yeah, now.....looks like TwilightSymphony. I realize that bears absolutely no relevance.

And perhaps he shall listen to stratovarius! I have not seen him since that day, but he seemed especially curious and he did say he was going to look up this Jens guy. So maybe he'll discover Stratovarius by that route. (Although i stressed that Jens had played with Dio because i knew he'd forget 'Stratovarius', and he'd sure as hell forget Jens' name.)

@Holy Light: Thanks for mentioning Richard Andersson. I have no idea who he is but i plan to change that. I had particularly been looking for some new keyboardists to listen to.....

He has very similar lead sounds to Jens. I remember him leaving a comment in an interview saying that Jens is the only guy who is doing something unique in the genre.

I hope to be on his compilations album. He hasn't announced the names of the players yet.
