I like the stuff by ADV: Neon Genesis, Bubblegum Crisis (2040), Excel Saga etc. Plus a lot of classic, old stuff from the 80's like Vampire Hunter D, 3x3 Eyes and Venus Wars.

A mange is the little sort of book with pictures in which tells a story and ananime is the same story moving on the screen of your tv or computer.
Or at least that's what i think.

A manga is like a comic, it's the story in the books.. and well anime is the japenesse word for animation, so you get the idea of that is an "anime"

Manga is japanese for comic book

Anime is japanese for an animated cartoon

Although most of the time in most series both the anime and manga isnt the same story.

So, now that we've gotten that cleared up...

Currently, I'm reading Cowboy Bebop and Tenchi Muyo! (which both Mangas are definitlely different stories from the anime, but both have the same background content as the anime).
Somehow I still have an account...yay...?

The majority of anime sucks IMO, as do the mangas. Apart from the (usually) excellent drawing styles, I don't see why these are so interesting.

That's cause you only read bad ones, I used to think like that too with One Piece, Shaman King and this kind of stuff. Now I mostly read shôjo-manga (i.e. originally made for girls, shôjo is the japanese for "little girl"). I suggest you read Nana, a music-related one and it's very good.

As for the Naruto anime imo it just sucks, but once angain, I don't like this kind of stories.

it's impossible to day that the majority or manga or anime sucks, because it's impossible to know on which stories are based all the mangas... they stories are too different... stories for boys, stories for girls, violent, love, comedy stories...

I like Shojos, well i'm a girl but I also love anime for boys like Saint seiya or yu yu hakusho... by the way I don't like dragon ball

nowadays i'm interested in shounen ai or yaoi... (boys love stories :D )

Oh yeah, I didn't realise you meant actual manga. I thought you meant anime. A lot of people in England refer to anime as manga (probably because of the company). I do actually know the difference though.

the best IMO is Neon Genesis Evagelion... I like it because it's very interesting... I mean, if you watch it only once, you may not understand it, it has a lot of characters that may look unworthy, but they have a large and complicated history behind.

Also about this anime/manga, I prefer the last 2 chapter of Tv... ok, I know that the movie "The End Of The Evangelion" was THE answer for the serie... but also the chapters were! come on, with some imagination, you can get to the same effect. Obviously, every one can make his own version of the manga, because the end is quite open and confuse...

hehehe I couldn't contain myself of writing here! :D

Yeah, as many in here said, Manga is the word for comics in japanese, japanese comics are known in Japan and the world as Manga. And Anime is short for Animation, according to how they pronounce it.

As for Manga, I loooove it!!! But I've just got to erad a few, cause in my country (Chile) there are not many manga stores. Just Anime stores.

But I just LOOOOOOVE Anime, I mean, orgasmically! :D

My fave ones:

Sailor Moon (my first anime, and it's very special for me!! )
Rurouni Kenshin
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Ranma 1/2 (one of the best love-comedy series ever! )
Inuyasha
X
Saint Seiya
Slayers
Record Of Lodoss War
Gravitation
Full Metal Alchemist
Robotech
Angel sanctuary
vampire Hunter D
Card Captor Sakura
Escaflowne
Gundam Wing
Marmalade Boy
Nadesico (I've seen just a little bit)
Tenjo Tenge

:D

I've seen some Shaman King episodes, and though it's for kids I think it's a really great Anime serie! Now I'm watching a little bit of Sakura Wars, but I've seen too little to make a judgement...

Well, and of course I remember some series like Captain Tsubasa and Candy Candy, and well, Heidi...cllassics from my childhood :D
