Sounds exactly like Eagleheart.
COINCIDENCE? I think not!

Re: Stratoplaigarism?
Indeed - is the band doing like a tribute to Strato in their song? Kinda like how some bands will put in a classical solo to pay tribute to a classical song.
Still, that is definately Eagleheart in there. Same rhythm timing and everything.
Another good copycat of Strato example is Stratovarius - Playing with fire and At Vance - Only Human. Sounds exactly the same

Re: Stratoplaigarism?
It is almost the main melody of Eagleheart. I say almost because there's a very slight variation at some part of the partiture, but, nevertheless... it's Eagleheart! I don't think it's a coincidence, neither. The melody is even repeated a second time, exactly like in the song of Strato. What were those guys of Cellador thinking while playing it? Could it be a tribute? Or something else...?

Re: Stratoplaigarism?
I hope its a tribute. It's either that or its indicative of an extreme lack of creativity.

Am I stupid or something cause...
That does not sound at all like Eagleheart. Could someone point out the part where this sounds like Eagleheart?

I agree, maybe there's something wrong with my ears, or you fixed this topic. Don't pull our leg Maybe chorus is a bit simillar, but don't exaggerate...
So where does the power come from to see the race to its end?
From within.

Re: Stratoplaigarism?
Right, after 4mins the guitar melody is half of Eagleheart riff. That not enough to be counted as plagiarism in my opinion.
Sure this isn't very common, but still, not nearly as clear as you said.
How about Stratoplagiarism in Strato's own songs? Compare "I Walk To My Own Song" and "Dreamweaver". Latter has a guitar melody the same than the first ones keyb melody.

Eagleheart is already one of the lest creative stratosongs, they could have chosen a better song to copyNeonVomit wrote:I hope its a tribute. It's either that or its indicative of an extreme lack of creativity.

I have to agree with you there. It's one of my least favourite Stratosongs (makes a cunning contrast with Elements pt1, which is one of my favourite Stratoalbums!)MaFiaBoY wrote:Eagleheart is already one of the lest creative stratosongs, they could have chosen a better song to copyNeonVomit wrote:I hope its a tribute. It's different if the same band takes its own work and imitates it in another song, especially in the same album. That's just called making connections within the work.Latuman wrote:Right, after 4mins the guitar melody is half of Eagleheart riff. That not enough to be counted as plagiarism in my opinion.

In fact I like Eagleheart quite much, very catchy with nice melodies and a very powerful chorus. But I have to admit it is not very inventive.NeonVomit wrote:I have to agree with you there. Well, I think too that it's one of my least favourite stratosongs AND Elements pt.1 is the worst stratoalbum after Fright Night.NeonVomit wrote:It's one of my least favourite Stratosongs (makes a cunning contrast with Elements pt1, which is one of my favourite Stratoalbums!)

Re: Stratoplaigarism?
I don't dislike the song. I think it is, unto itself, a good song. I just don't like it as much as other songs because it's WAY too much like Hunting High And Low.MaFiaBoY wrote: In fact I like Eagleheart quite much, very catchy with nice melodies and a very powerful chorus. Seeing as Elements Pt 1 is nothing like any other Strato albums, I thought it wasn't a great choice as a single, since it wasn't representative of the album's style.
But what the hell do I know. I'm just an idiot who posts on a forum

Re: Stratoplaigarism?
I opened a topic exactly with the same name some time ago and people almost killed me... Freedom Call has two songs which brings to my mind StratoSongs:
Holy Knight, the chorus' riff sounds like the ones on the Fright Night introduction
And the song HHAL also sounds like the same-named StratoSong. And the name has nothing to do with this opinion.

And Sammet sounds just like Bruce Dickinson and Michael Kiske.Aresius wrote:jaja teh same melody. The singer sounds just like tobias sammet:|
The melody of Eagleheart is quite simple, so it can easily be an accident.

Sorry.....couldn't resist.StratoHeart wrote:I opened a topic exactly with the same name some time ago and people almost killed me.
I never have found songs that sound like Stratovarius'
I'll try to get Freedom Call's.

Me too. In fact this is the first Stratovarius song I ever heard, and though there are better ones, this is one of my favourites.Equinox wrote:I agree too, but Eagleheart is a good song IMO, I never skip it.MaFiaBoY wrote:Eagleheart is already one of the lest creative stratosongs, they could have chosen a better song to copyNeonVomit wrote:I hope its a tribute. Btw, I've listend to it several times (No Chances Lost) and that dosen't sound like Eagleheart. Or i'm just tone deaf.

Re: Stratoplaigarism?
There is no copyright on "ideas" and,"sounds similar" is an opinionated/subjective phrase, so plagerism is a very hard thing to prove. Harder than illegimate paternity used to be in the Dark Ages! In other words, its a free market and groups will get ideas from others, even unconciously, so we should not worry about it.
btw, I can't spell good so forgive my posts at times.

Re: Stratoplaigarism?
it's quite similar to eagleheart, i don't think it's like a tribute...it sounds like an own melody to it's song (inspired in eaglehart )

Hehehe if it was illegal we yngwie malmsteen..ect should be in jail because most of their music has clasical fragmentsCottonCandy wrote:There is no copyright on "ideas" and,"sounds similar" is an opinionated/subjective phrase, so plagerism is a very hard thing to prove. Re: Stratoplaigarism?
Bach didn't copyright anything.
And there is a difference between being influenced by someone and outright copying the exact melody and throwing in a similar bass line.

Re: Stratoplaigarism?
Yes, but once again, Bach never copyrighted anything ...so there is a difference between using classical fragments and blatantly plaigarizing modern ones.

Re: Stratoplaigarism?
True. There is a big difference between taking somthing that was composed over 300 years ago, and copying something that is copywrited and was released 2 years ago.

Re: Stratoplaigarism?
please!!!!!!! how could you say that if Bach, Mozart or whoever compose that, didn't copyright anything, you can use it in in your songs????????
let's face it....modern (power or melodic) metal is lacking original melodies...groups use very similar melodies...i am not surprised by new groups who introduce these similar melodies

Re: Stratoplaigarism?
That piece of melody is old. It's not like nobody had never used it before Eagleheart.
