Jörg talks about Jari leaving Stratovarius

Post by Cristiane »

I'll post here the same thing I posted in Kotipelto forum.
btw, I'm sorry about the mistakes, but I translated it really fast.

I was reading an online brazilian magazine right now and check this out: Jörg tells WHY has Jari left the band, and what he said doesn't impress me at all. And to be totally honest, it's all that me and a lot of other fans have always thought.

"Jorg talks about Jari leaving Stratovarius

After the name of Lauri Porra being confirmed as the new Stratovarius bass player, the editorial staff of Rock Brigade magazine contacted the drummer Jörg Michael to talk about the changes. “The truth is that Jari had another priorities, he never got as engaged with the band as the other members. I get sad, because me and him formed together a hell of a kitchen, even though, he wasn’t really interested in develop something bigger with the band. He was in the gigs, in the pics, in the recording sections, but he never showed he was really interested in Stratovarius. Do you believe that the guy has been there for 10 years and I never went to his house?”, said Jörg Micheal, exclusively to Rock Brigade. “And his departure has nothing to do with the other band problems. Stratovarius has never been his priority, he never got involved in the process of creating songs and with the creative development of the band. Now, he’s married and the family became more important than everything. As the result, we’ll follow different ways”. Stratovarius is coming to Brazil with the new line up in august. And the new bass player Lauri Porra has already been warned that his last name will cause a lot of dirty jokes here. And he’s ready for them!"

They're making fun about Lauri's last name because here in Brazil Porra means sperm
But he already knew it! Last time he was here we already made some jokes about it.

The address is here www.rockbrigade.com.br
I don’t think most of you can read portuguese, though.

Well, it feels right. I kind of got that impression, and not recently. But since Jari is quiet it was not possible to be sure.

Cliff : I'm right? I thought that getting married might have smth to do with it, but I didn't really think it was because he was not really so into Strato. I thought perhaps I was imagining it or that he was just not very expressive.

In which case, Strato is better off without him.... (everyone will flame me now) ... but I do wish him and Heidi all the best for the future.

Well... he is not really expressive indeed.
But i guess it's also a bit difficult to be in a band in which you don't get on so well with the other members...

I'm glad all is settled now. Life goes on, and so does Stratovarius! :rvd:

Good luck to Jari and his new band! :headbang:

True, I have to admit he didn't seem so super-involved with the band, he was just the bass player (admittedly, a super amazing one) and now that he has a family he's decided that's the most important thing in his life. I totally respect that.

Good luck Jari.

Solberg, I personally think thats BS. And JK was in the band 12+ years. I think sooner or later we will hear from Jari, unless he's got a Gag order or something. :D

About him not enjoying his stint in the band for nigh 13 years---long time to suffer, don't ya guess? :D

I think I was kinda agreeing with you! :?

Well I have colleagues who have never seen my house either. Maybe he feels like there's work and there's home life... and wants to keep it seperate. Much as I like some of my colleagues, I don't want them in my personal space.

So maybe it's not that he doesn't get along with them, after all he was in Strato for a decade. They must have some bond.

Whichever, he will have fun playing in a new project and not doing long tours. And Strato has a new bassist that feels part of the team, so everyone wins (except those fans that are nuts about Jari... but there will be new Jari-music in time, to make you feel better) :D

Thats me alright. He's one of my biggest influences in playing... so you can be positive i'll keep up with whatever he does!

Maybe he'll still play the bass for any future Kotipelto albums...
