Re: Where are you from?
I am from a tiny town in Alabama called Lexington. Actually, there is a cluster of 5 towns all within just a few miles of each other. Lexington has about 500 people. The combined population of this area is 4,000. But we have 3 high schools in this area, 2 doctors, 3 dentists, several stores&6 banks. Each little town has a Mayor&a few policemen. (Yep--5 Mayberry's )
Our nearest, 30 miles away, bigger town is Florence with 30,000 people. Its in a cluster, too. The
big city is 70 miles away--Huntsville, AL--with 300,000 people.
I'll write more later&include maybe some pics&links.

I live in a town called Ivalo, far above the arctic circle. We have in Ivalo population of 4000 and the nearest "big" city is Rovaniemi 300km away.
Re: Where are you from?
I live in the city called Vantaa, it's about 20 kilometres from Helsinki. However, I've never really counted how far away it is from Ivalo the population here is about 185 000. And I hate my hometown.

You have my point Warrior. But it's not just drinking, and besides, I'm not going to drink as much beer as I can there. Even though the German beer is so pure that I could do so. We're also going to see some places at the town=tourist stuff.

Re: Where are you from?
This tells about Lexington--probably more than I should tell given the circumstances.

We have these quite a bit--this was taken by someone who lives a few miles from me. The National Weather Service used the photo in the News! October 2004 Tornado. The landscape is characteristic of the area.
We have LOTS of these! Little churches of about every faith imaginiable!

Re: Where are you from?
Indeed. Well, I'm gonna confuse everyone. I techinically live in two places...doesn't that screw you up? For me...yeah, how do you think I feel?
Anyway, I live within the western region of the state of Nebraska, in the confines of the US of A. The two places I live is Omaha and Seward. I was born, raised, (and will probably die) in Omaha. Pretty much all of the business that I do, and where my family is, is in Omaha. I currently live in Seward, NE, because I am going to school here. When I get the time, I'll show you guys some pics of both Omaha and the campus of Concordia (where I go to school).

Neither. But, we did have an outbreak of UFO sightings once--in 1973.StragOvariuS wrote:KKK or any ghosts near?browneyedgirl wrote:This tells about Lexington--probably more than I should tell given the circumstances.

A bunch of people in the community disappeared about that time. It hasn't been the same since. Coincidently, they were the most educated people in the area....
We all just figured they just retired&moved to Florida....
Oh, I need to get the link that tells about those UFOs--it make National News!
Believe it............Or, not!

There were many links, but I'm too lazy to type them!

Re: Where are you from?
Ok, I manage to find some pics:
This is downtown Omaha. The picture was taken from a park called the "Gene Lahey Mall".
This is the downtown area of Seward, NE. I wasn't able to find DECENT pictures of campus (I don't have a digital camera, if any of you are going to ask).
And while we're on the topic of tornados:
These were taken about 4 years ago, when Seward had an F-4 tornado in the area.

I live in Mexico City, i was born and raised (mostly) here, but i spent 4 years of my life living in Chicago due to my dad's job, but now i'm back here. I live in the city, in a quiet place called Lomas de Chapultepec, surrounded by trees. Sometimes is kinda freaking living in a big city, but i think i could not live easily in a small town, unless there are all the services i "demand" hehehe
