Just a little message...
to say that NO, I am not dead, the surgery I got (for some problem in the brain, too long to explain) went OK but not exactly as planned, with the result that it will take me a little more time to recover (at the moment I can barely eat and walk an cannot hear at all). So that's it, I will come here as often as I can, and I have only one thing to say to you guys (and girls) who are lucky enough to hear normally : STAY METAL !! \m/

Why didn't you tell us! Now I'll be worried. I was wondering what happened to you--if you posted about the surgury, I must've missed it!MaFiaBoY wrote:to say that NO, I am not dead, the surgery I got (for some problem in the brain, too long to explain) went OK but not exactly as planned, with the result that it will take me a little more time to recover (at the moment I can barely eat and walk an cannot hear at all). I didn't tell you because I couldn't connect 'till now. And yes, I told about the surgery but I didn't create a new topic for it, I used htcdude's one where he said he left for Africa. Anyway, there's nothing toworry about, I will have 3 or 4 other surgeries but they will be far easier than this one (the doctor told me it was 10 hours long and one of the most difficullt he had done) but I hope the walking to go back well in 2 or 3 months and perhaps the hearing by next summer. Anyway, I'm MUCH better now than two weeks ago, I couldn't even leave my bed :pbrowneyedgirl wrote:Why didn't you tell us! Now I'll be worried. Yeah, what the crap did you have? I know one of my friends has a tumor inside his pituitary gland (yes, INSIDE), and so far he's recovering well from what I hear. But that's too off topic.neonlightchild wrote:but how come? i mean...damn, what did you have?
I will keep you in my prayers, my friend. I hope that God will help you through the recovery process.
Somehow I still have an account...yay...?

What the hell dude! Man I had no idea!!! Take it easy dude, i hope you a speedy recovery.
What exactly did you have? No hearing for a YEAR?! I'd die not being able to hear music! Man it sounds like it was a pretty serious problem! Tell us, we're all concerned about you and we'd like to know. But if you just dont want to, thats cool.
Anyway, take care, and hope you get back to your old self soon!

Re: Just a little message...
Many, many thanks for all the nice messages. Yeah, the disease I get is pretty serious, the only thing my f***ing father left me before leaving God knows where. But anyway, never mind that, the disease is called "neurofibromatosis" and here is what I found on a website about it :
(don't worry, the tumors caused by it are not cancerous) anyway, in my case, the tumors (called "neurinomas") formed on both auditive nerves, the one on the right was very big and compressed also other nerves around (that's why it was very difficult to remove) but the one on the left is much smaller (with the result that I can still hear a little with my left ear) and the doctors don't seem to worry too much about it, it will be removed sometime around next January. Anyway, for the hearing, they will implant me a device to hear with a damaged auditive nerve (it is very fragile and did not pass the surgery) but it is not sure at all it will work. For some people it works, for some others it doesn't, they don't know why. That's about it, maybe I'll have to find another passion than music, but as NV said, it will be very hard, i'll check out what I can do with the little hearing I still have on the left ear :pNeurofibromatosis (NF) is a genetic disorder of the nervous system which causes tumors to form on the nerves anywhere in the body at any time. This progressive disorder affects all races, all ethnic groups and both sexes equally. NF is one of the most common genetic disorders in the United States (one in every 3,000 to 4,000 births).
NF has two genetically distinct forms: NF-1 and NF-2. The effects of NF are unpredictable and have varying manifestations and degrees of severity. There is no known cure for either form of NF, although the genes for both NF-1 and NF-2 have been identified.
NF is an autosomal dominant genetic condition; it is not contagious. Approximately 50% of those affected with neurofibromatosis have a prior family history of NF. The other 50% of cases are the result of spontaneous genetic mutation. If an individual does not have NF, s/he can not pass it on to his/her children.
Well, in fact I can walk. Not well (it's as though I'm drunk all the time) but I can, that's an improvement, the doctors didn't think I'd be able to walk so fast.htcdude wrote:I'll take you to the next Strato gig in a wheelchair if ya want

Re: Just a little message...
Hey dude,
Sorry to hear about all that! Holy shit... Glad you've been communicating with us about it. You're somewhat of an example to us, being so young and dealing with this SO well, with such good humor, hope and maturity. I admire you a lot! Your attitude is SO metal! /M\
... Anyhow, like everybody else, I truly wish you the best, and that your hearing aid (or whatever they're giving you!) helps you out-- and of course, that your left ear will take to the surgery well in January. Keep us posted-- we're thinking of you.

I really hope, that everything is going well in january as well. The fact, that now you can walk, even if a bit drunky, it shows, that you have spirit in you, and that encourages me in life, and hopefully others as well!

Re: Just a little message...
Once again, many, many thanks for your messages and sorryh for the late posting (I said I'd post on Monday), the reason I couldn't is that I left the hospital (in Paris' suburb) to go in a reeducation center near from where I live (approx. 800 km from Paris) precisely yesterday, but now I will be able to come daily. I tried to listen music with my lef ear, it's just awful, hope the hearing aid will improve it but it's not what matters now.
