i've just listened to Elgard's Green Valley by Rhapsody. the melody reminds me of the beginng of "Fantasmic Part III" by Nightwish.. i think this melody is a classical theme or something like that.
have you listened to songs which have reminded you of other songs, too?

The beggining of Iron Maiden's Two Minutes to Midnight is similar to several songs. One I recall right now is Grave Digger's Heavy Metal Breakdown. :D

However! Both songs date back from 1984! So nobody knows which one came first

Maiden's Dance Of Death (song) is a copy/paste of Blood Brothers.

Megadeth's Symphony Of Destruction and Stratovarius' Reign Of Terror
So you children of the world, listen to what I say
If you want a better place to live in, spread the words today
Show the world that love is still alive, you must be brave
Or you children of today are children of the grave

The song Guarded from the new Disturbed cd 10 Thousand Fists reminds me of Track # 7 (or was it track # 9) from Stefan Elmgren's First Strike. I can't remember the name of the song though.

"The tragic flaw" from Steel Prophet is very similar to "We are not separate" from Kamelot.

I can also say that the beginning of Running Wild's song Dancing On A Minefield has same melody than in 2 Minutes to Midnight. (Dancing On A Minefield has done in 1994, btw)

The Intro to Megadeth's "Killing is my Business" Album&"Black Diamond"Intro, sound very similar---the keyboard/piano riffs.

Archangel Michael: That's OK, Bob, because He doesn't believe in you, either!~Legion~

HammerFall's cover of Helloween's 'I Want Out' sounds a lot like Helloween's 'I Want Out' :D

The drums of DT's 6DOIT overture sometimes remind me a lot of SX's TDWoT.
