last gig

Post by nepi » Thu Oct 13, 2005 12:32 am

all you need to know about this topic is that here is place to write a report about your last gig! how was it? how long did they play? who was support act? any surpises?

I begin:
My last gig was today eve: Blackmore's Night. It was very cool, easy sound and a great performance. We saw on chairs (first time for me) but it isn't a metal-headbanging-trip. Very good!
They played more than 2 hours, full of good songs! experienced the "Child in Time" (good)... standing ovations weren't surprises...

my last gig was some weeks ago i think.. corvus corax in berlin
was so f*cking amazing.. they were presenting "Cantus Buranus", their interpretation of the carmina burana :)
unfortanetly there weren't any encores.. but well, they recorded the show for a live dvd, i'll buy that of course

my last gig (at least my last greater gig I went to) was Nightwish in Stuttgart. That was just an amazing show, especially their female singer (dunno the name) did an amazing performance

DragonForce at Camden, London, very squishy and support was crap.

My last gig was Maiden on Jun 25th in Paris with Dream Theater and Within Temptation as openers. All three bands were great, Maiden's setlist kicked ass : only songs from the first four albums.

I wasn't in Paris, but in Switzerland they played the same Setlist - I still can't believe what my ears heard that day!!!!!
Best Maiden gig ever!

Havn't been to a gig in AGES... I think the last 'proper' gig I was at was Iron Maiden in Athens, way back in June.

Since then, it's just been the local scene gigs which hardly count, since I was playing in them!

Last gig...Kotipelto solo, about a year ago. Jens on keyboards and Lauri Porra (pre-Stratovarius) on bass.
No opening act and barely any people at the gig (it was poorly advertised), which in a way was nice, since you could get up pretty close to the action.
Too long ago for me to remember the setlist or the duration, but it was a good gig.

Ayup, they even played a few Stratovarius tunes (SOS and Black Diamond at least, from what I recall)...of course, I'll get to see 5/5 of Stratovarius in a week or two ;)

Mithril Farewell Concert.

Unfortunately my favourite Hungarian metal band is now in a crisis. Their bassist and drummer left, and this was their last gig with this line-up. The show was awesome, I took plenty of pictures and two videos, which actually suck, as the audio part is shitty... thanks for the camera.

They played all their songs, and some Nightwish ones... and even a Hammerfall one without vocals.

I hope that they can go on, I really love this band.

I think, that both DT and WT are cool live and in studio as well.

stratovarius (well actually it was this local show, but i don't want to talk about that... music that really wasn't my thing. oh wait, i did just talk about it). anyway, it was strato. and i've seen so many videos, heard so many recordings etc that it was more of a relief to see them, finally, than anything else. ... it was fun and all, but in a weird way i just wanted to get it over with. like losing your virginity :D sorry, that didn't come out right at all!

enjoy! I saw them any weeks ago in Swiss and it was one of the best gig in this year - believe me, I have seen more bands in 2005 than I will ever seen in only one year!

I have seen WT as headliner in february and that was much better than before DT and after local opener Shakra, because they have rocked the whole stadium and they were too good for a "first act". But WT was fine but could be better ( I really like the songs as live as on albums).

I have met Sharon on february and she was so kind and friendly! awesome!
She's a nice girl  - :D
