The joys of Christmas
This topic has two parts
1: What do you want for Christmas this year.
2: Name a memorable gift you got for Christmas when you were a little kid, also give the year if you can remember it.
I guess I'll lead off. Barring anything way too expensive like an Ibanez Jem(Floral Print) or even the X-BOX 360. I guess I would like all the Star Trek movies on DVD, a new Cleveland Browns football jersey #19 with my last name on the back. I wore #19 in High School. All the "Deadwood" episodes on DVD.
My most memorable Christmas gift was when I got Voltron back in 1984. Voltron, for those who don't remember, or who never heard of it, was 5 separate robot lions (Black, Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow) that came together to form one giant robot. There was a cartoon, it was cool. I wanted that thing so bad, and it was so expensive for the time. I believe it is still in my Dad's attic in a box somewhere. Good memories.
Lets hear some of yours
Jesse

1. Either an Xbox 360, or a new laptop.
2. I can think of two:
a. a piece of stone from Jerusalem that has my confirmation verse on it (Philippians 4:13)
b. An N64 with Super Mario 64 & Shadows of the Empire

Somehow I still have an account...yay...?

Re: The joys of Christmas
1) I would like to receive a new bike ( I have an old & ugly mountainbike)
2) When I was 6, in 1980 "Santa Claus" gave to me the house of Barbie, 3 floor with elevator, I play with it since I was 12. (Strange but true, I can't remember any christmas gift before this. I have a so short memory?)
Bye

I'd like the new Redwall book and a portable Jens Johansson.
The most memorable christmas i ever got was definitely my beloved typewriter. A Remington Rand Model 1. :luv1:

1. This year hopefully brings me new guitar (I love my guitar but it's getting quite old..) Gibson Les Paul or Fender Stratocaster
2. Memorable gift... My brother gave his golden necklace to me when I was 4 years old. He died in a car accident back in -92 and I miss him I still have that necklace in a box under my bed.

Similarly, what I want for christmas is to not have a completely shitty holiday. this is the first xmas without mum, and even though i suggested going away, my dad and brother want to stick to the tradition and have christmas at myparents' house...
i can't remember the year, but my most memorable christmas present (i was probably between 4 and 6 or so) was a rope ladder! how random is that? like, what made my parents say, "hmm. let's get clare something she can swing from the ceiling on!" haha... anyway it was awesome. I hung it from my ceiling... but as I grew up I wasn't light enough for it anymore and the plaster started to come out of the ceiling... and it had to be taken down.

Re: The joys of Christmas
I feel for both of you. Loss is never easy. Especially around the holidays.
Clare, I am understanding that your Mom passed on earlier this year? I won't lie to you, this Christmas will sting a bit. You can still have a nice day though. Enjoy your family and let all the memories of your Mom give you happiness. I would imagine she's smiling down on you and wouldn't want you to be sad. You'll get through it. Trust me.
My Mom passed on a week before Thanksgiving, Nov 11th 2000. Thanksgiving and Christmas were pretty rough that year. It's sort of a hollow feeling that you get. Hang out with your family and don't forget to laugh a bit too. Laughter makes the tears go away. Hang in there!
Bones, your brother will always be with you in spirit.

I don't want to reply the words of Jester but I share thee and I only can send you energy and all the best!
1. happyness and health. I know my family will give me gifts, but the biggest gift is to be happy, health and lucky
2. It was a mini-car that I can navigate with a little tool. Sometimes you can see kids on the streets, it was a similar one.

Re: The joys of Christmas
I just want a peaceful XMas with no arguing, etc&plenty of food!
Materially, a few household items would be nice&maybe some nice fragrance items. And, a red bra. I think I'll get that for myself along with a bottle of Peppermint Schnapps!
My fav Xmas item was a Panda bear I got when I was 2 years old. Sam. :luv3: I wore him out by the time I started school carrying him around.
My second fav was a set of Tinkertoys I got when I was about 8. I got Barbies, of course&enjoyed them, but they don't stand out as Favs like the game toys I got as a child.

1: What do you want for Christmas this year.
I'd say a flat, a Nokia phone or a new bass guitar.
2: Name a memorable gift you got for Christmas when you were a little kid, also give the year if you can remember it.
Definitely a vinyl player, when I was 7 or 8.
I didn't have so many presents for xmas, because my parents were so poor

I'm not too fussy about what I get. I don't actually NEED anything anymore, I've aquired all the equipment i need.
Other than that, I was incredibly stoked when my parents gave me a laptop last year. It's such a handy piece of equipment, I don't know what I'd do without it.
