Try to find the BBC one from the 80s. It's SO charming; i grew up with that (and the books of course!!); so did Hvyblah.

it's worth taking a look for! It's very humble...

War of the Worlds--the new one.
Kinda disappointed me, but its not a bad movie.
My fav version was the TV-Series in late 80s. I hear its on DVD now---I'm gonna start looking for it! :)

BTW, how did ya like that loud Tuba sound the aliens made from their ships---that was kinda annoying ???

Watched "The Search for Spock", and "The Voyage Home". These movies rock. Haven't seen either in a long time. They are still fun to watch. I am a Star Trek dork , self admitted. My roommate is too.

Great movies, "The Voyage Home" especially ...

I saw Shaun Of The Dead again yesterday ... I've seen it may be 10 times already and it gets funnier every time ...

I just got back from seeing Hostel. I'm not interested in horror flicks but this guy I know insists on taking me to nearly every one that hits the theaters. Anyhow, Hostel was a pretty fucking grim movie.

ClickWitch: I love horror movies, but have been dissapointed by a lot of the more recent ones like the latest Exorcist installment a few years ago. I have heard good things about Hostel though, is it worth going to see it in the theater or should I wait for the DVD?

I really want to see "Munich" though, I may go on Friday.

Team America.

I found it realyl funny. A bit different from the humor of South Park, but it's still cool. :)

Oh...hell...really, you're asking the wrong person. But if you really wanted my opinion...I don't see why it wouldn't be every bit as grim and horrific on a tv screen as it was in the theater. But hell, the price of a movie ticket is about the same as the cost of renting a DVD, so why wait?

With all due respect, exactly what kinds of good things could you have possibly heard about this movie??!?!?!

I know that Quentin Tarantino made it so thats a plus, for me anyhow. Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, From Dusk Till Dawn, Jackie Brown, all great movies in my opinion.

I've heard on TV that this movie is disturbing. I love going to the movies and one or more people in my group are just flat out disturbed. Nothing disturbs me because I have been warped for a very long time. Since about the 4th grade. Is it disturbing as far as the level of violence, sickness of the violent acts? Could some people find it disturbing? Thats my litmus test for a good horror movie. The original Exorcist is a great example. It stands the test of time because it has disturbed many people over the years.

Actually, I found it disturbing that the story centered around frat boys that were carousing around Europe trying to fuck everything in sight. How am I supposed to enjoy a movie when the protaganists are jerkoffs? I mean, hell, the whole reason they ended up in a horror movie scenario to begin with was because they decided to take a detour to Slovakia because they heard there was a great whorehouse there. What the hell??

That movie kinda reminds me of From Dusk to Dawn----the "rowdy guys walk into a bad situation, but, you reap what you sow" kinda theme.

Has anyone ever saw "The Rapture" starring David Duchvony&Mimi Rogers? It is a very thoughtprovoking movie about religious issues, cults&such.

Oh, there is a "War of the Worlds" TV-Movie on SciFi channel tomorrow night---my son is going to try to get one of his friends to tape it for us. If not, we will wait for the DVD! :) I saw reviews&most were 5 out of 5 stars---some folks liked it better than the big-screen version! So, I gotta get a copy of that version, too! =P

I went and saw Munich yesterday. Excellent, excellent, excellent movie. Did I mention that this was an excellent movie?! Honestly, this was one of the best movies I have seen in a very long time. Steven Spielberg re-affirms himself as the greatest filmmaker of our day. This movie had the right mix of violence, suspense, drama, and humor. No weak points in the entire film which a bit over two hours long. This is all a true story though. Lots of symbolism and insight into the terrible acts that happened at the Olympics, and what continues to happen today. I loved it, and I will be there to buy it when it comes out on DVD.

This is probably the best movie I have seen since Saving Private Ryan, which, surprise, surprise, is also a Spielberg epic.

GO SEE THIS MOVIE

I've just watched "The Devil's Rejects". A fucking bloody Rod Zombie movie. Violence and perversion pure. Not really my taste.

I hate gory/bloody horror movies :puke: as I've gotten older I have grown to really feel disgusted by them. On the other hand, a little violence&blood if necessary to the plot is acceptable. Know what I mean? I think horror in its extreme forms is like video-games&skateboarding--appeals to the teen&twenties audience. =P
