Stratovarius in Cechvka- Havlickuv Brod review
The concert in Čechovka was amazing. I just didn't understand where the hell did they get those terrible bands that played before Stratovarius. The first band who played there was a Czech Ozzy Osbourne revival band, which was quite good, and the singer looked like real Ozzy
) Then we saw a pop-rock band called Burma Jones, with one of the worst Czech singers behind the microphone- Mr. Bohous Josef. Anyway, their gig wasn't that bad, and it was better than I expected. Then Salamandra came!! Salamandra is a Czech power metal band with no ideas, and they absolutelly lack spark. Their concert was dull and boring and I almost fell asleep. But this was amazing when compared to the band that came after them. They are called Tibet, and I've never heard about them before. It was a total disaster! The crowd was slowly going mad, because the gig was almost unbearable and you could see many middle fingers raised in the air
) Then we saw a short fire-show in the rythm of Rhapsody, Nightwish and Manowar. And finally!! Time for Stratovarius to enter the stage!! The gig started a little bit late, because of some technical problems, but after those amazing Fins entered the stage, brilliant show started. The sound was crystal-clear and everyone was in a great shape. From the beggining it was clear, that Tolkki's physical problems are history, he was smiling, jumping and chatting with the other guys all the time. Kotipelto was in a great vocal form (unlike from the gig on Winter Masters Of Rock in March, which was really bad), he hit all the high notes and his allocutions between the songs were really funny
)) Lauri Porra was great, headbanging all the time, I just missed a longer bass solo. Jens was headbanging as well and his keyboards had a beautiful clear sound. Jorg Michael is definitely one of the best drummers in the world. I have seen Stratovarius three times already, but this gig was their best. Hope to see them again!!
