i like our national anthem and i dont give a fuck if the nazis used it for their shit! And whats the problem with that song? I think we can forget the past of germany a little bit now. We showed, that we are a friendly country and no one has to hate us anymore.... i know the past of germany isnt very funny and glorious, but we can not change it. What can we do or what have we to do, that the rest of the world does not hate Germany anymore... i can´t understand it...sorry.
to lose againt italy was very hard for me too. im still sad about it. I was really sure, that germany will win against italy and will go to berlin on sunday. but thats life. the world cup is the best thing, which could ever happen to germany i think. This last 3 weeks were like holidays in the own city (Kaiserslautern). There were so many nations and so many nice events. And the higlight of all were the games when germany played... I was in Kaiserslautern, when they defeated Argentina! This was such a nice day! One of the greatest events in my life was the World cup game Japan - Australia, becuase i was in the stadium^^ 8) but bla....

so.. im waiting for your replies...
Why does life sometimes feel so strange?

Well, Scolari didn't have any aces up his sleeve. Portugal simply frizzled out in a boring match where not even Zidane managed to make much of an impact apart from the penalty.

Dull football. Portugal had good chances but utterly failed to make any use of them. France didn't shine either.

Italy deserves to win the WC.

I agree with you. Portugal had some nice chances but didn´t managed to do anything great to get the ball to the goal. France played a boring game after two good games again, they just defensed their lead on the 2nd half. In my opinion these kind of games to be won by one penalty kick and otherwise only boring playing are very annoying...

@ stratohawk and Dave: Yes, of course I was overexaggerating. I was mostly referring to the overconfidence and in many cases I wasn't talking about Germany in general but about some "fun-making" posts in this thread. I honestly don't think that nazism is coming back or anything, trust me. :) It was just my time to provoke I guess. :D

I was going to say something else, but what the hell, this is a football topic after all...

I'll be cheering for Italy on Sunday, although I don't care that much who wins.

Yes, luckily they don't win every time! :D I'm still sad, but now everybody in Germany will make one big party again on Saturday, against Portugal. And for Sunday... Hopefully France will make it.

Well.. For Italy is residing in Duisburg, I'm still in the contest somehow :D
So I'll be cheering for Italy in the finals, although it's sad that we lost against them. But it was a good game, and I'm quite satisfied that our team has made it that far.

I just hope, that Klinsmann will stay!

Agreed. It hurts less to lose to a worthy opponent, and yes, Klinsmann has REALLY shaped the team up well!

Someone tell me about the French team....I haven't seen them play. How are they? Good ball-handlers? Accurate? Teamwork? Hotheaded? Violent? What kind of playing can I expect to see on Sunday?

Teamwork, but centered very much around one man. France without Zidane cannot function, in my opinion.

Yay, it's a Germany-Portugal match tonight. I don't actually know which one to support. I generally like Portugal very much as a country but they will be playing in the same group with Finland in the next qualifications, so sadly they will be our enemy in the close future. :(

In other hand, Germany is also one of my favourite teams, and Oliver Kahn will be their goalkeeper in the final match! I wish a lot of success for him, too, because he has an unbelievable great career behind and this will possibly be his final match with Germany's shirt on.

I'm afraid that there will be a penalty shootout in the end of the game and I can almost guess which team will win it, because I'm a realist and I'm staying to the facts.

The result will be 1-1 after the actual playtime + extra time, but Portugal wins the penalties 4-3. :(

The goalkeeper of Portugal, Ricardo, is almost unbeatable in this kind of situations and the shooters of Germany also have a lot of pressure on their shoulders, so it is almost obvious that Portugal will win the penalties.

--------------------------------------------------

Conserning to the other match tomorrow, I'm sorry to say, but the French team have no chance against Italy.

In my opinion Portugal deserved to win them in the semi-finals and France got a cheap goal, but of course the final result is the only thing that matters in football. Also the referee in that match was really inconsistent.

Italy will win the game 2-1. \o/ :)

Feel free to slap me in the face!

Anyway, I am upset as my fav team lost the medals, although great that Nuno Gomez scored in the end (to lose 3-1 is always nicer than not to do any scores), but it´s good for the tournament and Germany for sure that they managed to won bronze and besides play a good game. Both teams showed that they weren´t disappointed after losing the semi-finals as it´s usually in bronze-games which was very pleasant to see. :)

Those 2 goals that Schweinsteiger scored were outrageous. Simply phenomenal.

Good to see my team get the bronze, always better to leave with a prize than none. They hosted an excellent World Cup, and provided us with some fantastic football and goals. I think we can expect much from Klinsmann's Germany, there are many excellent young players on the team to develop. I am looking foreward to the Euro 2008! Van Basten's Holland will also be ready and approaching maximum strength... that will be a hell of a competition!

Going to be a great day today for football! I'll be watching it in the house with him. He is supporting Italy and having lots of different Italian food to eat while watching it, he's even got some Italian beers! However I will be supporting France! I have never like the Italian style of play and also my surname is a french surname! 'Boucher'
Come on FRANCE!!! :D

The time is drawing near...

Will Canavarro and Del Piero take it for Italy, where football is in crisis? Or will Zidane and Henry do their magic and take the WC back to France?

Only time will tell!

Haha, who would expect France to go THAT far in the competition ? Not me, at least!!!

Well, as i'm 90% Italian and 10% French, I'd say I support Italy, but it's the same to me anyway. Gonna watch the match with Piiuska, so...
