Right, this thread will be to make a list of potential candidates and other issues, and keep this sort of thing out of other threads as it will threaten to overwhelm them as the time edges closer and closer...

So far:

R: John McCain, Ron Paul

D: Barak Obama, Hillary 'out, out, damned spot!' Clinton

Independant: Nader?

Damn, the choices for the Democratic party are all pretty good! Al Gore? Hmmmmmmm. John Edwards is a good choice, too. I may have to rethink Hillary. ???
Its a long time to when the Conventions are held where a final choice is chosen by the delegates. And even longer to the elections, so anything can happen!

<sigh> Monarchy sounds so much simplier! :)

Can I ask that why in Stratovarius Forum must be allways somekind of politics discussion or now this elections discussion?

Hm, I agree with Timo that there have been quite much political discussions here in the late times, and also see this board getting political (& on the other hand also spam) oriented instead of a music forum. Maybe because there has been very silent in Strato-camp now.

But of course not everyone needs to read or write about everything. I think some ppl will discuss more about music here and some about politics. But still there aren´t so many Strato-oriented forums on the net than political discussion boards...

These were just my 2 cents about this matter.

This is a forum of a Finnish band? So what? That argument is... funny. There are at least three American members here, and a few more who are interested in world affairs, including American politics. Everyone who follows what's going on in the world should be interested in American politics.

And politics is for politicians? That's a healthy attitude. Stop voting, if that's what you think.

Oh and those political topics happen to be pretty famous, mind you. Even a member of Stratovarius have participated in the discussions. Oh yeah, shit, he's not Finnish... fuck... maybe he should be sacked from the band. Wait a minute, their drummer is not Finnish either...

There is room for everybody here, don't you think?

This is the "other discussions in English" so we can talk about anything!

Politics, music & any other possible shit that comes to our minds.

It doesn't matter if this forum is in Finland...I don't live there and I care about what happens there.

And not only me. Just check BEG's topic on the storms in Europe.

So...I think it' doesn't matter if we have one or one too many discussions about whatever we want.

Well, this section is for more serious subjects like politics&since this is an internet forum we cannot bite each others heads off over it, so why not discuss politics? And a healthy argument is not gonna kill anyone, either! By healthy, I mean no name-calling or insults to the other person's gender or origin and watching the language somewhat.
Yes, discussions like this can be fun, just not let it get personal.

Thereare about 30-40 people who come here on a regular basis so those 4-6 individuals are quite a big minority. :)
The rest are spammers. :D

EDIT: Have you ckecked what kind of topics are discussed in other forums other discussion? I'm happy that there are people here that are serious and have a sense of humour, where needed.

Rest are spammers because they don't like politics!
Why don't we just make discussion where those 30-40 humans can say their opinion?
But NO politic, it's too much politics in News allready, when I need politic I watch it on TV and that's enough!

If that member of Stratovarius that you mentioned decides to run for political office, (mayor of New York, his adopted hometown, for instance), then that would be at least one democrat that I'd probably vote for. :D

Well, people can discuss stuff all they want&ultimately it never changes the shape of things to come. But, discussion can be a release valve to get stuff off your chest that maybe is bothering you, or just giving your opinion of the situation.
Politics is serious, however. This process is what chooses the leaders of tomorrow---leaders which can make the future a better place, or destroy it completely!

Can't wait to see Hillary back in her Mao monkey suit, which for her is the ultimate fashion statement, once the Dhimmicrat primary officially kicks off. :D
