Another fact: in the last US presidential elections the voting percentage was around 60. A lot of people don't seem to give a damn. Which is quite worrying, considering that the President of US is the most powerful (wo)man in the world.

Wasn't it you who said something along the lines of 'would you want your daughter bringing home a black man?!' or something?

I dunno, I'm going on what I hear.

No, what I said was, "some people claim to be so tolerant, yet they would be very upset if their beautiful daughter chose to date a black guy." Anyway, this is a very different set of circumstances.
Moving along........
like I said, people who do not live in USA do not understand the anger&disappointment----people are simply fed up
toward the present administration. I live in the one of the most redneck, conservative areas of the country&people are saying-many people,
"I'd rather support a black guy for president than to watch the country suffer through another Repub administration." Folks are really going through alot because of the policies&such that the right-wing has set forth: job loss, losing homes, paying more taxes, etc. People want a change&either Hilary, or OBama is it!

If OBama does get nominated, almost every minority will turn out to vote for him&the unregistered will register just so they can vote for Barack OBama. And, lots&lots of whites who never thought that moment possible, will vote for him, black or not. Because OBama will offer hope for change&a better America. He is going to try to win respect back to USA. And, OBAMA will be the conservative/right-wingers worst nightmare. :)

Well let's hope so. He does seem less corrupt than most other politicians and it would restore other countries' faith in the US, having a fresh face in the presidency.

Horse Humpa! Thats real childish. I bet Hillary doesn't even own an iron! :buh:
:D
Seriously, USA in a sense is so damn backward they'd accept a black man as Prez before they'd accept a female(in terms of "tolerance", I mean). I think Hillary would be the best choice, but OBama, IMO, would do a fantastic job. If he is nominated he has my vote.
At least these big-mouth FOX news know-alls would be put in their place. Like Bill O'Reilly, Sen Hannity, Ann"toothpick legged/Adam's apple/pancake chest"Coulter, Rush Limpballs, etc. They should have their own website: SmartassesandWindbags.Com.

Here is Big Mouth O'Reilly in action at an OBama news conference:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/01/0 ... 79954.html

Whether people like it or not, either Hillary or Obama WILL be the next Prez, so right-wingers had better learn to suck it in&accept it! Of course, I realize that both of these people could be assassinated, or ruined either by the right-wing fanatic or some other sinister force. I imagine the consevatives are working overtime to dig up some skeleton in Obamas closet hoping to discredit him. And, they will keep those childishly stupid jibes going at Hillary, hoping she will crack--giving the impression she is a weakling.
I know one thing: the right-wing will not steal the election from Obama because the USA will have a full-scale race war on their hands if they even ATTEMPT to pull something crooked like that! :D Never undersestimate the power of millions of fed-up, dis-satisfied Americans! :)

And when Democrats do take the White House in 2008, Repugs won't have anyone to blame but themselves! ;)

In the New Hampshire primary, Clinton won the Dems party&McCain won the Repub party.
Interesting. The Dems seem to be concentrated between Clinton&Obama. The Repubs not too consistent. Romney came in second place on this one&Huckabee, third.

John McCain did a surprising come-back. Of the Republican candidates he is most to my liking.

Hillary is no rock star. And the people in NH are not robotic sycophants. The reason they voted for Hillary was because they liked what she said in her speeches. OTOH, Hillary only led by 3 points so she still has alot of work to do! :D

BTW, Richardson has bowed out of the race. I liked him OK, but he was just TOO soft-spoken. He would've been chewed up&spat out by the process. I guess he just figured he had no chance anyway.

A quote from John McCain: "The greatness of the USA should be judged by the number of people trying to get in versus the number who are leaving!"

McCain seems to be a good man, but from watching him on the debates it looks as if he has somewhat of a temper--maybe he'd get us in WWIII? ???

Thats because losers have a habit of blaming their personal shortcomings on the government. Its the Democrats who want to surrender in Iraq, while the Republicans want to stay and win. Its the Democrats who want to raise taxes, while the Republicans want to lower them. But if you want a bigger government, then by all means vote for Hillary, since as a woman you clearly have no choice but to vote for a woman.

Wow! I didn't know this forum still existed. Imagine my suprise when I found out my account is still active after years of not using it.

Anyways, as it's always the case with politicians, the voters will end up deciding based on silly details (like how many pork chops Obama can eat) as deep inside they know it won't make a difference.

If I were American I'd go with Denis Kucinich.

Yeah, someone who unlike Bush or Clinton has had first-hand experience of how terrible war really is would be far more cautious in sending America's young men and women into harm's way.

Other than that, I think he's too old for the job.

Standard of living, rather than greatness. You can't evaluate countries and rank them, that's sensless. What makes a country great?

BTW, Fred Thompson has dropped out.
Guiliani is awaiting how he does in Florida to make his decision whether to remain or not. Huckabee is getting antsy, too.

Romney is the projected winner in the FL primary. If so, there goes Rudy.
I guess it will end up being a toss-up between Romney&McCain. ???
Gee Whiz, what happened to the good 'ol days when at least 4 guys would wind up at the convention to be chosen from? ???

Maybe but Mormons are smart enough to work things to their advantage, hence why they are so fuckin rich (most of them). You should see the church they built around here, almost a palace, huge and heavily decorated.
