I've never heard him sing, so I cannot comment.
The "total person" is OK, though. Nice clothes&hair.

Wasn't he in Kamelot? My son is a Kamelot fan, so I'll ask him if Gus is a good singer.

When you say Adagio, do you mean the French band?? Because if you do, I'm very outdated. I have Adagio's first album, but haven't listened to them after that. On that album, the singer was David Readman. I don't know how Readman sounds in Pink Cream 69, but he sounded pretty good in Adagio.

well......let's Start
1st of all...he HAS accent ( he's from Brazil)
he singed in TAKARA (replaced jeff scott soto)
he recorded Adagio's Dominate (2004)
i really DONT LOVE his voice!, but he's really versatile and poliphonical, he can modulate very easili :)!
that's all youve gotta know to find out...but...i dunno if he really has place in R.R
i would have preferred 1000 times another singer like...Russen Allen, Yama B (Galneryus), Sammet(not much, but very convenctional power metal-ish voice)
Kai Hansen(but he would have asked for guitar protagonism too)
anyways, there's too much suitable singers for R.R
even tho, i will prefer old Strato...

I'm sure Allen, Sammet and KH are all rather busy with their own bands and therefore don't seem like realistic options at all.

oh! yes that is for sure!including those people are busy with their own lives
but, i insist about russen allen, he sings for Ayreon's Star one project also
kai hansen sings a whole bunch for angra as well ( recordings here) tobi, well, he recorded, and was good...kiske, really couldn't appreciate his real metal talent, he didnt make me remember the kiske he was in 1987 ( year i was born)
there too many options to run here...
what about the finnish singer that sang Fire Within in 99 with 1ts's Warmen GiG in Jyrki's show? he has a RERALLY REALLY high range in vocals ( like 4 almost 5 octaves)...well, i dont know, that is for sure...

And even if he does - who cares? Accents are cool ...

Tom Angelripper from Sodom had a heaviest German accent I've heard on their early albums, and it still sounded great.

He's a very good singer but I don't see him fitting Tolkki's style at all. Raw voice. Ah well, maybe the change will surprise me in a good way.

Bold move. I just hope that the people he hired realize that they could get thrown out of the band quickly as 'starting' bands are shaky sometimes.

Don't think so, only Kamelot-singer before Roy Khan was Mark Vanderbilt.

Wow, Timo Kotipelto he is not, a much rougher voice. This band will be really different from Old Stratovarius and Revolution Renaissance "New Era" record.

He wears clothes and has hair yeah   Has Timo even met any of these guys or did he just find them on myspace? How can we be sure this is not some new publicity stunt?

Miss Gus = Mr. K

If its not a stunt its an interesting choice. I prefer a cleaner more power metal voice than this though.

Well...he does have an accent, but then again, everybody does, people from England have a distinctive accent, people from USA have a distinctive accent...so...no surprise he has an accent.

I hope this turns out cool...but still I'd prefer Tolkki to sing again

i have his adagio cd,Dominate, he sings...not bad...but he's some sort of Labrie clone
a very versatile voice, pretty good, but let's remember Adagio is a Prog/Symphonic metal band
R..R is a Power/Melodic metal band...
Gus doesnt posseses a VEEERY high Range in voice, even thoug...thats a brave choice
i would have prefered another one....but well....
let's see what does the future has to say

Yeah his range is REALLY a bit limited for the high notes.

Well, I did ask my son about Gus singing, and in my son's opinion, Gus sings pretty good. But, my son also said he could not imagine Gus singing Stratovarius-style songs. He did not elaborate so I don't really understand what he meant. ???

BrownEyed, he has a rough voice compared to Kiske or Kotipelto. Not as much as Symphony X's singer (Russell) though. The ones that compare him to LaBrie need to have the wax removed from their ears. Honnestly he doesn't have that type of voice nor the style.

I wouldn't see him singing Tolkki type songs either. We could still be surprised though.

Yes that's the french band ADAGIO indeed! And right David Readman was great when he sang inside the band. I saw them live in 2002/2003 and Readman had a great voice! :)

Gus compared to Andi Deris?
Really, Gus doesn't fit as well as Andi in that vocal low tessiture voice! Deris is better, even for singing in some high tunes!

aw come on!
you can't say lemmy's a god...
you need to say the things correctly, he has a laong musical trajectory, a legend...
but you can't say he's a god...no one can say that
first of all: he's no virtuoso
2d: his lyrics are too much alike one of the other
3d: i dunno XD!

but well...to conclude, he's no god at all :)!

In what universe does Gus sound anything like lemmy? The only similarity is that they both sing. completely different voices, pronunciations, and methods of singing. Pretty much different in anyway a difference can be made.

Agree that. He has nothing same in his voice than Lemmy. And I wondering "raw voice"-comments. Listen example "Fire Forever" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2SsYtAVbwVE or "Children Of The Dead Lake" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yi8TM8JUbEc song's choruses, where he sings clean and little bit like Sonata Arctica's Tony Kakko. He can sing clean, rougher and snarling vocals. But I think, that he will sing RR/Strato-songs in clean voice, which he sings very cool.

how is he gonna do? if tollki decides...in one of his TOO MUCHO CRAZY decisions...to sing, really high ranged songs like
-Find Your Your Own Voice
-Learning to Fly
-Millenium
-believe it or not, Against the wind?

Gus will DEFINATELY not reach that...for sure, he can make more variations/polyphony, but he can't sing that high ;)
