America hasn't got those.
Would you really like to see a Finland with only Kokoomus and Keskusta? I find it really hard to imagine a situation like that in Finland. SDP and Vasemmistoliitto have a strong support, even though the left lost a lot of votes in the last elections. According to polls SDP is catching up Keskusta and Kokoomus.
I was born and raised in Southern Ostrobothnia so I certainly could. ;) At least without Finland's Commun... I mean Vasemmistoliitto.

Well, I was raised in Keskipohjanmaa and I shiver at the thought. :)

Seriously, she became a lost cause a few weeks ago. I am just glad a Dem will probably win this time.

Yeah, but you never know. There will be many, many dirty tricks in this campaign. The Dems have to fight dirty as well this time if they want a chance.

Obama&Hilary have been in private talks&the rumors are flying she is going to be his VP running mate. However, she says she is merely giving her support to him.
IMO, Bill Richardson would be the ideal running mate. ;) I won't elaborate on that, but he is one that Obama has discussed about. That wpuld help get the Hispanic vote&Richardson seems to be a good man for the job.

Yes, an interesting race for office, thats for sure!! :D
Very serious race, too. The fate of USA depends on this choice, more than ever before!

Who should Obama pick for Vice-Prez nominee?

Post by browneyedgirl » Thu Jun 12, 2008 4:33 am

Obama Vice President Picks: Who Are The Frontrunners? - Politics on The Huffington Post
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/05/0 ... 00869.html

Richardson or Clinton are my picks, but also, Dean&Clark seem OK, too.

This selection is serious because, after all, if the Prez dies, or even becomes seriously ill or incapacitated in some way, the Vice-Prez becomes the Chief Executive. So, he/she better be good!

Given that McCain is the white, republican freaking war hero that seems like a MODERATE republican to boot, I think he has like half the red states in his freaking pocket already, and you still have to take into consideration all the political machine that Cheney (cus we know who is running the Whit House and Capitol Hill...) set up backing him... I won't be surprised if he gets elected.

On a side note, you guys have to change your freaking voting system now! It didn't make sense 230 years ago and it sure as hell doesn't make sense now...

During the last elections we (non-americans) were thought to believe, there's absolutely no way Bush is going to get re-elected and what happened. :? Do democrat-supporters actually vote at all?

Especially if McCain is elected. He ain't no spring chicken. He doesn't need to even die, just become too ill to do the job (which I'm sure is pretty stressful and demanding...) I've heard some rumblings about Leibermann, but seriously, two old white guys? Not good, especially with the variety we've all seen in this election so far.

Oh, it gets even better. McCain left his 1st wife(who was partly invalid from a near fatal car crash a few months before)to marry that eyecandy "Cunt" who is about 20 years his junior. So, the Cunt must've been pretty damn good! He also left his children behind. :err: But, after all, being an asshole is not illegal, so there ya go.

BTW, the thought of McCain being elected(and USA people being that stupid)makes me feel like throwing up. :puke: Actually, I don't care if he deflowers the whole sorority at evey Redneck University in the country,in the grand scheme of things moral values don't mean shit. But, HELLOOOOOOO, McCain=Bush in just another form. We need a change, a BIG one, because the USA is going down the cesspool slowly, but surely! :(

Just wait until Karl Rove gets through with Mrs. Hussein Obama- it won't be a pretty picture- but it will be amusing, nevertheless.

This campaign will drive the jihadi larva positively apeshit....

And, Karl Rove is a right-wing, troublemaking a$$hole who deserves to have a bullet dispensed to him between the eyes.

And, Obama is NOT a Muslim, his FATHER was&his FATHER was divorced from Barack's Mom&out of Barack's life before Barack was born. Barack's Dad died(in Kenya)when Barack was 4 years old. Barack is not a Muslim, he is(was)a member of the United Church of Christ.
Oh, I think Barack made a trip to Kenya a couple of times to see about his "roots"&his Fathers life and such. And that pic of Barack in Muslim dress surfaced&right-wing propagandists jumped on that like stink on shit. But, it ain't going to work because at this point, NO ONE CARES!!!!! :)

Right-wingers better face reality. The only way BARACK is going to lose is if the right-wingers have BARACK assassinated, and that is the one fear that many Democrats have. But, not electing Obama, or to have him assassinated, would be the surest way to totally destroy the USA. so, if the right-wingers have an Apocalypse/Armageddon deathwish complex, thats one wy to get it fulfilled!

Just something I want to ask from someone who lives in America: How is Obama's campaign different from John Kerry's campaign? I mean, 4 years ago it seemed that there's no way Bush is going to be re-elected, but he still did.
So I want to know if all the info we get out here about Obama's popularity again just democratic "propaganda" or does it actually seem like McCain has no chance?

Well, Obama appeals to a wider population of people than Kerry. Trust me, 99.99% of African-Americans will vote for Obama if they have to crawl to the polls, and probably 80% of Hispanics, and the majority of poor whites. Most of the Hillary supporters are going to support Obama, and he has a "rock-star" folowing with the young under 25-year-old voters as well. A large, very large chunk of Middle-class is also going for Obama simply because they see where the Bush administation has carried the USA and these people want to stay Middle-class. One more Repug in the White House&many of these Middle Classers will be spending their days hunting Aluminum cans to pay their gas bill.

I'm not saying McCain has no chance. There will be people that would support an Attila the Hun if he ran on a Republican ticket. And many wealthy people have actually thrived under the Bush Administation, so ther you go. Then, you have these religious moralists who think anything with an R in front of their name is an example of moral uprightness. But, I think more people ar learning these days you cannot eat Moral values, moral values cannot pay the medical bills or put gas in the car.
So the days of the repug party using abortion or homosexuality as their talking points are over. THANK GOD! :)

I do not envy any guy who is elected to do the VERY serious job of running the USA. Shit, he has his work cut out for him. Maybe, pity is a better word. =P I just hope the populace of USA has the strength&patience to get through the coming few years because it gonna be a fucking mess&only the strong will survive, thats fer sure! :)

I dunno about marxism, that picture is just overloaded with racist stereotyping.

miditek, you forgot the watermelon.
For the 1,000,000th time Obama is NOT a Muslim!
And, right-wingers better accept that he is going to be the next President barring assassination, and THAT worries me. Trying not to sound suspicious, but I bet there are several plots going on right now to the tune of,"How can we get rid of that sucker?" But, not said as kindly, of course.
Because Obama will turn this country around. It won't be easy, but he is the man for the job.

Sigh.

Bush is not responsible for higher oil prices.

It is the simple case of supply v.s. demand. Global demand for oil has gone higher due to China and India developing rapidly. Sure, the war in Iraq didn't help but if it wasn't for that, oil would still be incredibly expensive (maybe $110 a barrel as opposed to $130)

It is the futures traders on Wall Street who dictate world oil prices. Not the President of the USA.

Anyway, Americans still have it very easy when it comes to fuel prices. My car costs 100euro to fill up. It would cost $70 to fill up in America. As you say, 'do the math'.
