I remember first hearing this song, and thinking...WTF!?!? I could never get that far into the song because of the creepy vibe it let off. But then I listened to the entire thing, and right when it started going "0, 3, 0, 3, 6 6!", I immediately fell in love with the song. It may not be Stratovarius at all, and it might possibly be the most repetitive song ever, but it is so completely badass.
Anyone else love the song? And does anyone else think Fourth Dimension is the best Stratovarius album?

Re: 030366!
I like this song, it's a shame it's so underrated. It's not their best but not their worst song. 4th Dimension is one of their best albums! :headbang:
Re: 030366!
what makes it the worst song you have ever heard? Pray you actually have a musical explanation for this and not some "I don't like it" thing
Re: 030366!
so the song would be perfect for a binge eater or to save peoples lives when they have choked or swallowd poisen. i think the song could be really kickass as a soundtrack for a industrial action movie.
Re: 030366!
the solo is one of my favorties
the song would work perfect in a movie where someone has to find out a code.
lets compare that song to the genres is takes off of
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DoiCYZuX ... re=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LM5nmHki ... re=related and this one is labled top industrial metal

the solo is like the solos in other stratovarius songs
what i was asking is if you would rate 030366 below those industrial and darkcore songs?

Re: 030366!
The Fourth Dimension, IN MY OPINION, is one of the best StratoAlbums, and the song 030366 is really weird, but its OK, its not the worst song in the world by all means, IMO.

030366 is a pretty cool song, its also tolkki's date of birth which he probably did on purpose but im not sure why the song would be about the day he was born 0_o?

Re: 030366!
Hey, it's better than that crazy Maniac Dance remix. Really.
Re: 030366!
All the songs have quality instrumentation. It’s not like they are random and inbetween scale note smashing with everything intentional out of rhythm and out of tune with a drummer that plays like a metronome gone haywire and everyone else screeching to electric highs and lows.

I used to love this one, but I haven't heard it for a long time.
I love this style songs (no I'm not into repetitivity, though it's ok when it is.)

Re: 030366!
Why not? It was more like the early Strato-days, kind of experimental, with crazy stuff. Remember "Thin Ice", "Metal Frenzy", and others.Plisken wrote:030366 is a pretty cool song, its also tolkki's date of birth which he probably did on purpose but im not sure why the song would be about the day he was born 0_o?

This song is Ok, just a little weird, though I think the ever repeating "zero three zero three six six" very boring..AGAG wrote:But Thin Ice is really cool, I find 030366 very akward...stratohawk wrote:Why not? Re: 030366!
It's not a bad song, but it's not one of my favourites Stratovarius songs. Fourth dimension is an excelent album. Episode is my favourite, but FD is really really good.
I'd like to see the new band making songs like Episode and Fourth Dimension style.
Wow, when I think about Fourth Dimension songs like... Against the wind, Distant skies, Lord of the wasteland, Twilight symphony, We hold the key....
...and what about Episode: Father time, Will the sun rise, ETERNITY (my second favourite Stratovarius song, SPEED OF LIGHT (my favourite Stratovarius song), SoC, Forever, When the night meets the day...
...and...
God, what a great band we had, what an absolutely marvelous songs... I just hope they can continue making the same. Please, no stratovarius selftitled album style, no.

Re: 030366!
For me it's vice versa. Thin Ice is one of the strangest songs I've ever heard. Compared to that 030366 is quite a normal song, with normal structures. Regarding the other Strato-songs it's a little bit special, of course.AGAG wrote:But Thin Ice is really cool, I find 030366 very akward...stratohawk wrote:Why not? Against the Wind, Distant Skies and Galaxies have some of the best refrains/choruses I've EVER heard!!browneyedgirl wrote:and, Galaxies! Re: 030366!
Galaxies is one of the most nostalgic for me. One of the first songs I heard.
Heck with the topic title, if there wasn't the "!" on it I couldn't get in because my browser gives me a link to some phone site meant for searching for that number. (And it happens everywhere with this computer...)

Re: 030366!
I, personally, hated Episode. It was just a mess, and wasn't coherently put together at all. It is probably my least favorite Stratovarius album next to Twilight Time and Elements, Pt. 2. The only songs I can stand to listen to are Forever, Speed of Light (even though it's loads better live), and Babylon. xP

I'm a very big fan of listening to Night Time Eclipse, then swapping back to Fourth Dimension for We Hold the Key They go together in my mind.Star_Ocean wrote:I, personally, hated Episode. Re: 030366!
Hasn't anybody noticed that this song (030366) is striking similar to Screaming In Digital by Queensryche?

If you haven't heard it you'll have to listen to the whole song to get my point.
Fourth Dimension is a brilliant album, although it's my least favourite of the Kotipelto era. That doesn't make it bad XD

Re: 030366!
Yeah I thought it sounded a lot like "Screaming In Digital." Everything from it's lyrics, to it's composition/arrangements, it's practically a cover! Haha.StratoFabio wrote:it's a Queesnrÿche (not so well done, IMHO) tribute
Even though it does come across as second rate Queensryche, I really like the song. It's one of those songs that I wanted to dislike, but I found it stuck in my head by the end. Actually, I really like the Fourth Dimension album as a whole. It was much better than I was expecting. "Distant Skies" has become one of my favorite Strato songs. Terrible lyrics, but catchy as hell.
