Meanwhile in Finland...

Here you can talk about Stratovarius and related bands. Language used is English.

Lauri should quit everything and pursue a career in directing movies.

Yes, he is clearly the new Godard

Oh yeah, kyllä! You're clearly going to be a movie director!

Thanks for the video, Lauri! At least the sound is enough good to be heard :)

Sounds good by the way!

Kiitos!

I like the new Jörg drums colour.

EDIT: And...hey guys you are going fast! I mean, you are A LOT into it, into the band, you are working soooo hard and that's really amazing.

We are gonna have new cd soon! Maybe in 5/6 months!!

Wunderschön, Lauri.

There is a certain je ne-sais-quoi in films consisting of lots of banging and featuring a not-fully-dressed German man.

However, and the undisputed news value notwithstanding, I'd still rather have you playing the bass and composing than making movies.

If someone reading hasn't already checked out Lauri's excellent solo albums, their loss.

Lauri, a question... was that a Warwick Jonas Hellborg system in the corner I spied? If so, how's that working out for you? I've heard good stuff about them but never got a chance to try one out.

Stuff is looking good, can't wait for the album.

I couldn't hear too well because of the bad quality of both my speakers and that video. xP

So I got a question:

Was Jorg using double-bass?

at the beginning I thought it was a sequel for Blair witch project, and then I realized there IS something really weird happening among those woods... that must be some kind of german mighty warrior doing some kind of manifestation to the gods.

It sounds really really energizing :)
Nice hand-held traveling Lauri, I'll vote for you as director;)
Thanks guys and the best wishes from Buenos Aires!

:) I read a review in a finnish newspaper and I will translate it for you here.
The new short movie from Lauri Porra is a master dogmafilm. He is taking us on a strange journey in the finnish nature. It is both mythical and illustrative. Behind the green mist you can suspect dark, dangerous and powerful creatures lie in wait for you. And you can easily believe that you are the last human beings on earth.
But there is more to it then solitude and danger. The young Porra still has his futureoptimism intact and he goes from darkness into the light. He shows us an energetic drummer in action. A german drummer. And some other persons give us great signs of joy of life and a will to conquer all the problems we can meet on our trip on mother earth.
Porras victory over the darkness, if you so will, and till that a victory over the monsters, that so recently ravaged his environment.
This movie can be seen as a proof of young finnish capacity to create black dogmafilm that ends in light.
You can see this highly recommendable masterpiece on the finnish metalband Stratovarius homepage.

Call me selfish, but I voted no because your bass work with Sinergy is some of the best I've heard. Also your bass solo on the last US Strato tour was impressive too. Please follow your dreams though. You could even use some of the stuff off your solo album for your soundtrack :P
