Re: Cain´s Offering ...Timo K´s new band???
awesome news!!!!!!!
Re: Cain´s Offering ...Timo K´s new band???
the article looks serious
(here's the magazine, with its headlines: http://blogs.yahoo.co.jp/hokeypokeyyoud ... 44466.html)
but I still feel some doubt... I mean, Cain's Offering, isn't that rejected by the God? because it's not faithful or something...
and the album is called "gather the faithful"?
it still makes a cool name, but i have to say, this is weird.

Re: Cain´s Offering ...Timo K´s new band???
I was just about to post this too! It was in the recent burrn magazine and Jani offically announced it on his myspace! OMFG, Jani, Miko, and Timo!!!
I wonder if it'll be more HR oriented like Altaria or Kotipelto's stuff or if it'll be like Sonata Arctica's Silence...I definitely wouldn't mind another album like Silence or Altaria's Divinity!
either way this is sooooo awesome IMO!

No april's fooling. Yes, TK and Jani indeed have been cooking up some music, up there in West Finland, quite recently.nefertari wrote:A friend of mine of sent me the news of the japanese music magazine "Burrn!", they tell that Timo Kotipelto and Jani Liimatainen has formed a new band called Cain´s Offering . I haven't heard any of it yet except for some very rough demos last year at some point. I wasn't sure when it was done and when or how it would come out, or what the project's name would be! I'm also quite curious about what it will sound like.
Hey, more stuff for you guys to listen to!
Re: Cain´s Offering ...Timo K´s new band???
This is so awsome for me. I can't wait to hear what they came up with.

Cain's Offering is not just a "project".
Jani mentioned that he has formed the new band with TK.
by the article, at least it doesn't mean the limited project

Re: Cain´s Offering ...Timo K´s new band???
Yes it´s not a joke at all. The news just came so suddenly like behind the wood. Now I remember when I met Mikko Härkin last October in Helsinki, he told that he is working with an interesting new project with some great guys... and it will be great news.JensJohansson wrote:No april's fooling. Re: Cain´s Offering ...Timo K´s new band???
Well, it's an interesting question without a really good answer. This distinction between what is "just a project" and "this is the real band" is somewhat artificial, in a way.Verdades Parias wrote:But this is just a project, right??...that is cool, but don't forget Strato please,
I know that in Japan especially it is felt that it's very important to fans (and magazines, and record companies!) that each person somehow "belongs" to this band, or another band, as a member.
I was often very surprised by this before I understood it. Like so often with Japan, there is a lot of stuff going on that you just don't get.
I don't want to speak on behalf of TK, but anyway I feel he stands behind anything he sings on 100%. I do know that he is committed to Stratovarius, we have all worked hard for more than half a year making this record and are about to start doing lots of gigs too... so of course none of us are forgetting Strato, and TK is a member of Stratovarius the same way he has been now, for 15 years or whatever
Having said that, if eg. Hellborg asked me to do a gig with the band "Art Metal" and if I had time, I probably would do it, because it might be fun. If I during that gig would be a member of "Art Metal", and Stratovarius would be considered just some project, I couldn't say. To me it would just be a gig, the same way Art Metal was a record with some interesting people.
To which leads the inevitable question:
Q: how many members were there in ABBA?
A: Eight. There were Stickan Andersson (nicknamed "the fifth ABBA"), then there were the four members, and then three of those themselves had members.
But of course the more I think about this now, maybe Stickan should have been nicknamed "the seventh and eighth member of ABBA".
( In Swedish it becomes a little easier: "Hur många medlemmar har ABBA? Två med lemmar, två utan". )
Re: Cain´s Offering ...Timo K´s new band???
I thought TK has 100% commitment only with Stratovarius
Now I understand why he made only 3 songs for Polaris!
BTW: Why to made this on secret!???
