Setlist for the 2nd part of the Polaris Tour

Post by emperor_black » Mon Jul 13, 2009 12:22 am

Stratovarius have been playing a setlist which is very similar to the 2005-06 Tour, with the exception of only 3 Polaris songs.

Should they play MORE Polaris songs (at least 6 out of a 14 song setlist, for example) in the 2nd part of the tour? (Japan-North America-South America[TBC])

I think it would be great. I'm planning to see them in the Vancouver show and I would be a bit dissapointed to just hear the classics I heard in the 2005-06 Tour, and in the tons of good quality performance videos we've seen many times(Like RMJ 04, Tuska 03, Wacken 07, among others)

YES. I would even go see them again when they come back to Finland if they did. At least add the fan-favourites King Of Nothing and Forever Is Today.

I will see them in Quebec city, and i would be disapointed to not heard the classic cause i never saw them live..
they don't play Against The Wind and Father Time, there is classic missed too...

The song on polaris that i would love to heard is When the mountains falls instead of winter skies, and Forever is today...

They are playing Higher We Go and Deep Unknow ( a good choice )

Classics are jewels, but I think Strato should point to the present and future now.

By the way, if they don't play Polaris songs now... when will that happen?

I completely agree. Even back in 2006 I wanted them to play some songs of the S/T album. Even in this tour I would like to hear "United"! that song matches perfectly with the situation of them being together over all the problems they had

It would be interesting to hear those songs from pre-Fourth Dimension albums.

Yes, definitely.

I think the album has been out for long enough now to hear more songs of it live.

Totally no...
Polaris songs are cool
but they are no match for any
previous album, except for "Stratovarius"...
Well... even "The Land of Ice and Snow"
is better than "When Mountains Fall".
I LOVE Deep Unknown, but that's it...
What I really want would be songs like
Chasing Shadows, Against the Wind, Forever Free
Learning to Fly, etc...
No need to feel so afraid, colors last a lifetime and fade to gray...

I agree that they should add King of Nothing and Falling Star to setlist, but there is a huge hole in setlist: Why in the hell they haven't played Paradise? I think it's an awesome Stratovarius song that should be raised to as high position as Kiss of Judas and Black Diamond.

Pull an Iron Maiden and play the whole damn album from the beginning to the end :)

The album hadn't been released by the time I saw them so they only played 3-4 songs from it.

I'm guessing on the next tour they'll do more.

It was the first time I'd heard Winter Skies however, and it was amazing.

I know, but I though it made more sence to mention Maiden instead of "Growling darksluts" from Tobago...
