SONATA ARCTICA Lets Fans Design Cover Artwork for new single
it likely takes a band less resources to to just hire someone.if they hire someone they just pay fees and gives some directions, here they had to spend hours going through entrees and with procedures. this serves as something organised by band and label for promotion and fan interaction.

No. It would be more expansive to hire an artist. I mean, what have they done? Set up an E-Mail account and made a few announcement. And I doubt chosing the cover takes ours. It is the cover of the promo single for christ's sake.

I wasn't expecting a compatriot of mine to be on this list...Ragehead91 wrote:The winning piece was created by Simo Heikkinen (Finland). Second-prize winner was Dilyana Delcheva (Bulgaria), while the third prize went to Rodrigo Larreteguy (Argentina).

I don't like the winning cover at all. One of the other two should have received the first prize. I like both of them equally.

Pretty much the same here, except I don't like the fact that even the runners-up were basic power metal cliche graphic works. If I was in any means a photoshopper, I'd have sent an avant-gardistic suggestion with a different theme than these colorful basic covers you see in any power metal album. How about pink ponies for a chance? ;( ANYTHING but these kind of works. :EStealth wrote: I don't like the winning cover at all. One of the other two should have received the first prize.
