I have a question about things like that, if i am doing a record and i want to a musician participates in a track, like Matias did it on your record, i must pay to the artist for do that, right??
The reason that i quest is.. cause i want to Timo Tolkki participate in the record that i am doing.. xD but i think it's just imposible for me hahaha.
PD: sorry about my english =(
My grandmother don't let me see Chabelo.

It can be for pay, for those that are willing, or by volunteer, for those that are willing.

I think that sort of depends on the musicians.

If you persuaded Timo Tolkki to participate on your record (what might be possible if the music is interesting for him), you should count with paying for his flight tickets, hotel etc. at least
Maybe Mike could tell us about Mathiass - what did he ask for to record

Thanks to internet that is not always necessary. For example a guitar solo can very well be recorded here in Finland and for example sent to someone in the us

It was a funny story actually. I emailed Matias one day and asked him if he was interested in playing a guest solo on one of our tracks. Within 10 minutes time, I had already sent him the track and he was already working on it in his studio
But yes, Matias recorded it himself and then I just plugged it into my mix. Thank god no one needs to fly anywhere for recordings these days!

I would, but I despise Macintosh/Apple with the white hot fury of 10,000 suns.

Yeah, all that seems pretty good, and even excellent, but cant afford to buy the album yet, I've just bought the latest Ensiferum, next Epica coming soon and still sparing for Sonata...so maybe I'll see for it the same time I'll buy the new Kamelot when it comes out!

Yes, indeed I like it! I am also a Megadeth fan and this cover reminds me of some of theirs!
Is there some meaning behind this cover, some apocalyptic reference or some such?

Well of course, in a way. I have always been a post apocalypse movie buff, our vocalist Aaron was the one who wrote these. For example, the first half of the lyrics of the title track "Beyond Perception" read:
Boiling seas will climb
Across horizon lines
Annihilation
These weakened walls will fail
Bolts of lightning soar
Across a southern sky
Oh, the fury
What will become of us?
Prechorus:
This is all we have tonight
Take my hand
Watch the rain with me
This is where we draw the line
Our heads held high as we welcome destruction.
The end is not unknown, now...
...beyond perception...

Gee, that's it? Holding hands is where we draw the line? You're quite the horndog! But at least you're setting things straight on the first date! :laff: :laff:

Such sophistication! But couldn't you add a line somewhere about casting the ring into the fires of mount doom? I've seen more culture in cups of yogurt!

You are right about that! Thankfully, certain facets of my flamboyant personality do not get discussed offline. But I think my behavior here still precludes me from ever running for public office
Posting from a public place is always a nightmare too...
