Heroes
I did it My way
Last Night Night on Earth
Well, they are no Stratovarius songs anymore but lots of bands cover other bands live don't they?
I heard Doro playing live a Judas Priest song the other day in a Metal Festibal so why not?
I choosed those 3 songs because I think they would work great as covers.
Or... am I totally out of my mind?

i'd like they to play anything. chances of them doing it are another story but i'm not going to complain about anything they play. seems a little weird for me if they did RR songs, although it would be amusing.

But there are demos made by Strato on those songs. They even played Last Night on Earth in Wacken 2007.icecab21 wrote:seems a little weird for me if they did RR songs

They have enough quality songs in their discography that they wouldn't need to to make a great concert experience, and I don't think they want to antagonize Timo Tolkki any more than is necessary

jens, were stratovarius demo's songs that were owned by the whole band or just by the composer/s?

Re: Would you like Stratovarius to COVER these songs live?
No they don't need to cover those.
There are more than enough other songs they can play.
Plus I prefer them playing some certain type of stuff instead of everything from their discography.
Wuth this I mean that I like them playing Fourth Dimension - Infinite + Polaris + some elements stuff instead of having also stuff from S/T or the old Tolkki era stuff.
Though it would be great to have Will my soul Ever Rest in Peace in the setlist.

Nah, no covers like that for me at least. Season of Change would be great

Re: Would you like Stratovarius to COVER these songs live?
Would they technically even be covers? After all, they were originally rawly recorded by the line-up TK/TT/Jörg/Jens/Porra. Although those demos don't exist, remember that! Yes, well, it would be surprising at least to hear a song from the album Revolution Renaissance that never was. Last Night on Earth would be cool. Another one I'd dig big time is Born Upon the Cross.
Hey, now that Rantanen only is in that cover band, he should visit Stratovarius for once! No?

yes. It will be an achievement to play those songs live. Why an achievement? Why not!
What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch?!
Re: Would you like Stratovarius to COVER these songs live?
No, no... they should do Bloodstone !
Re: Would you like Stratovarius to COVER these songs live?
they should play some song they havent done much live lately. like United, distant skies, dreamspace, elements, tommorow, season of change, eternity, coming home, anthem of the world, no turning back etc. and maybe more some Tolkki's vocal stuff like Tears of ice, Wings of Tommorow(id love to hear this one!), Out of the shadows etc.

would love to hear we hold the key or hold on to your dream
Re: Would you like Stratovarius to COVER these songs live?
It won't happen but "Last night in earth" sounds amazing with Stratovarius from the Wacken-clip.
Re: Would you like Stratovarius to COVER these songs live?
No, they already have much better songs than that!
I would love to listen more old stuff like WE HOLD THE KEY & GALAXIES

Re: Would you like Stratovarius to COVER these songs live?
From the songs that aren't on the set it would be nice to hear at least Black Night, Hands of Time, Out of the Shadows, Hold on to Your Dream, We Are the Future, We Hold the Key, Season of Change, Coming Home, Anthem of the World, Mother Gaia, Elements, Alpha & Omega, I'm Still Alive, Liberty, Fight!!!, United, King of Nothing, Emancipation Suite, yeah...
Seriously, I'm Still Alive would be a heck of a live song. Just why did they make the live-sounding ending to it in the first place? I think that song belongs to the set...
Someone in this board said something about them not playing Hold on to Your Dream in years. That's a lie though. They played it at least in Tuska 2007 in Helsinki. It's great, yeah!

Re: Would you like Stratovarius to COVER these songs live?
Lauri Porra told my friend at a concert that he hated that they weren't able to record that album and that he loves those songs to death.
So, deep down somewhere I am sure that they want to play some of those songs. I don't think it would be right, though, and I don't think they will.
