Seriously though I think he should get Janne "Warman" Wirman to do the keyboards, that would be cool
He's a bit busy with Children of Bodom and his other projects, though.

Perhaps Derek Sherinian. (if he didn't have another band, I don't know about the guy) :)

I dunno if Janne would fit but i'd like Mikko Harkin to join RR, and when i like both Polaris and AoA but you know as a fan of TT's music i was expecting like the follower of New Era but AoA is awesome but i'd like to see more faster songs on the next, along with the epic slow songs he knows how to write

Really different styles, I think.

Kevin Moore left Dream Theater back then to focus on his own stuff. He's more of a composer than anything, I think.

Derek Sherinan is really versatile I think he'd fit right in. I loved his performance on Yngwie's attack! album.

That keyboard player from Adagio is really good too; don't know his name but maybe Gus could get in contact with him?

I really don't know why some people hate AoA...
I find it the same when people say they don't like Sonata Arctica's new "The Days of Grays".

Musicians tell you: "I'll give you a very dark and weird album this time"

I'd say that if people don't feel ready to share those emotions the musician gave to the album, then don't listen to it.

I've realized that AoA has really great songs.
The song AoA itself is deep and dark, so... beautiful.
Even when I do consider Polaris a better album, I also love AoA, on a different way. Sometimes, I want something powerfull, fresh and speedy, then I have Polaris. But if I want something dark and sentimental, AoA does that job better than Polaris.

Oh and, I'm very exited about the news for the bass in RR.
If you listen to Heroes with Lauri Porra (Strato demos) and Pasi Heikkila's version in the released album, the bass is more interesting than the final "Heroes" version with Justin Biggs. So I hope to hear more complex and interesting bass lines on the new album.
:D
No need to feel so afraid, colors last a lifetime and fade to gray...

Moore has one to three projects. He just won't do gigs. He dislikes them, always has. He's a studio musician nowadays. I don't know about Sherinian though...

The change of pace is odd now. At first it was important for Tolkki to get talented fresh young guys with little to no name. Now he picks a veteran bass player that "everyone knows" as he states in the interview posted by lalodrums2.

I don't think he ever said he was just looking for young people. I think he was trying to get Bjorn Englen at first and that it did not work out. It did say bass player for a certain famous Swedish musician and malmsteen fits that description much more than any band Jason was a part of.

Fuck, no, he made some REALLY good solo records after that. Interesting music and usually interesting mix of people playing on them.

And about the keyboardist for RR. Well, if theres no Jens or Rudess or Pinella then I don't give a fuck

Well, I suppose he will find somebody out there like he did with Mike. Then everything is possible! :?

And Richard Andersson woul be great.

I guess we will see if he is going for competent classical player or one that has worked on solos specifically as well. Aoa was pretty much just competent classical player with someone who can do both

Sorry Jens, was just kidding. I'm also a great fan of Dream Theater: If I had to choose a power metal band I am fan of, definitelly Strato; and if I had to choose a prog metal band I am fan of, definitelly Dream :D. I also appreciated the work Derek made with Dream... His solo in "Once In A Livetime" followed by "Lines In The Sand" is just epic, simply wonderful.
So don't get me wrong, it was a joke :?
