Pretty much, basically. I wanted to see him use those injection things that make vampires explode that he was using at the end of the first film... IN THE EYE.

Now that would be a kick-ass movie- Blade stakes all of the emopires and has a bonfire at dawn for them! I'd have no problem paying $50.00 or more to see such a film.NeonVomit wrote:I kept wanting Blade to show up.

A bit boring. Nothing special. The only interesting object in this movie is Cam Gigandet

Duna is weird but also a classic from the 80's!
Don Juan is very nice, Johnny Deep is one of the best actors of this generation!
The lasts movies I watched was:
KRULL, lovely movie that also made part of my childhood
The Mummy Trilogy (I Love Brendan Fraser)
Scooby Doo in Where's my Mummy? (so funny I love Scooby since I was a child)
Watchmen, The movie was so "good" that I slept

Re: Recently seen movies
Underworld Evolutions
This was one dark, Goth movie. Plenty of shirtless hunk vampire guys, and sexy Kate Beckinsdale in her trademark tight leather outfit. Melancholy background music gave the movie a depressing effect along with the dark lighting(they were vampires after all). For gun lovers and action fans there was no lack of either, plus a very hot love/sex scene between Michael and Selene is included.
This movie is the last of a trilogy, so I want to watch the other 2 to make complete sense of this one.
For Goth and vampire fans I definitely recommend this movie! Pretty good!

This Friday I watched The Painted Veil and on Saturday Alfie.

I'm not goth but I know much about vampires... and I have to say that this movie is a load of bull. Stupid action, nothing more.browneyedgirl wrote:Underworld Evolutions

P.S. Don't get offence, nothing personal
Re: Recently seen movies
But it has a love story and I think it is not the typical love story. Compared to Twilight and New Moon Underworld is a work of art! Plus I like the mixture of lycans + vampires.Morgana wrote:I'm not goth but I know much about vampires... and I have to say that this movie is a load of bull. I cannot conceive how a vampire can sparkle when being exposed to the sun or even worse not die! For god's sake, it is common language, it seems everybody knows about it but Stephenie Meyer!
What kind of vampire is that?

Re: Recently seen movies
I watched Underworld: Rise of the Lycans today, and I liked it very much, too. Michael Sheen really shone in this movie, and Rhona Mitra was great, too! (She looks alot like Kate except Rhona is shorter) Another tragic love story, but overall, I enjoyed the movie. :bigok:
I am going to watch Underworld tomorrow. The trilogy is linking itself together pretty well.

Re: Recently seen movies
I watched Underworld today. Viktors attitude toward werewolves reminds me of the KKK. And his little closeknit, wealthy society resembles the Mafia. So thats the Mobs secret! And, the Lycans were like, er, ghetto gangs. I am not trying to overanalyze a good movie but it seemed as if it was symbolism in there.
Anyway, I liked this trilogy and I will watch it again soon!

Re: Recently seen movies
Anyone else going to see James Cameron's Avatar this weekend? Just booked my tickets to the 3D-showing, can't wait to see what it's all about.
Re: Recently seen movies
I've been watching a lot films by John Carpenter lately. Hate to sound like an old fart, but they just don't make action flicks like they used to.

I saw Orphan a couple of days ago. Very effective horror film. Seeing a nine year old child bludgeon a nun to death with a hammer is enough to leave you feeling disturbed for a while
I recommend it.

Re: Recently seen movies
It's good to know someone who's gonna watch it. I still have doubts whether to go and see why so many advertising are around the film, or to wait and expect anybody's opinion. Guess I have no options, I think I'm still waiting... I just don't know if "Avatar" is going to be THAT awesomeMormegil wrote:Anyone else going to see James Cameron's Avatar this weekend? Re: Recently seen movies
I have to say my interest in it dropped greatly after seeing the trailer and hearing more details about the plot. I liked it a lot more when it was only known as "James Cameron's massive space odyssey that'll revolutionise the film making, stop wars and cure cancer."ggonza43 wrote:It's good to know someone who's gonna watch it. It did however get some rave reviews from public, critics and other people in business already and this will also be my first 3D-experience, so I'll give it a shot.

Re: Recently seen movies
I'll state my opinion after I've seen it, but I wouldn't advice anyone to take my recommendations on films. Many of my friends have learned that the hard way.
Re: Recently seen movies
I've seen Avatar yesterday and liked it. It's the most visually stunning and breathtaking movie I've ever seen. It's so beautiful it's worth watching despite the fact that the actual story is very cliched, it's basically Dances With The Wolves, only with a big blue aliens.
Watch it only in theaters with 3D, no other means of watching will do it justice.
So, I give it about 8.5/10.

Re: Recently seen movies
For me, same story in a different setting is a good thing. If there is an important value in a story and it does not have as much impact told one way, I think that same story needs to be told again and again in different ways to reach different demographics and time periods.

That was what I was afarid of: to be visually excellent, but with a cliched ploticecab21 wrote:For me, same story in a different setting is a good thing.
