Polaris Limited Edition in Jewelcase ?

Post by VictorTDD » Sat Dec 19, 2009 8:08 am

Previously I found some info about this version, then just recently I got it from eBay.

Same tracklist, same barcode and same catalogue number with Limited Edition Digipack.

Made in Germany by Optimal Media Production, which is also the same with Limited Edition Digipack.

But what confuses me is that the printing quality is terrible compared with Normal Edition. :?

So is it an official release? When did earMUSIC/edel release it? Why its printing quality gets so poor?

If the printing is that horrible, then it must be a fake. :/

But the laser ring of the cd shows "Manufactured by Optimal Media Production" and SID-Code CD-Master "ifpi L571", which means this cd was made in Germany by Optimal Media Production. You can find some info here: http://www.musik-sammler.de/wiki/index. ... IFPI-Codes.

The normal edition and promo of Polaris also show "Manufactured by Optimal Media Production" in the the laser rings, the only difference is that the SID-Code CD-Master is "ifpi L572", which is just another CD-Master product line of Optimal Media Production. What's more, I found "Maniac Dance" single by Mayan/Sanctuary Records is the same case, "Manufactured by Optimal Media Production" and SID-Code CD-Master is "ifpi L571".

And another proof is the back cover, the artwork of back cover was re-designed in the lower part and two sides.

How can a fake do these? :?

I took the photos by my phone camera, so they are a little blur. I just use the photos to show you the artwork, not the printing. :P

Well, the pics of those seem not very good at least for starters. Why not scan? Brings better hint on those things here on forum too. Also, once in while a copy or 2 might go through print quality check unnoticed?

It has that poor quality because it's fake. If you haven't heard of its release, what should you expect? FAKE!
