@ sanichi: Nice pic! :) I especially like those two trees on the right side of the pic.
Thank you for reviving this topic! I haven't had the motivation to do it. :( I'm still not going to post my own pics though, but I thought I could try a new technology (new to stratoforum at least).

This is the hotel I stayed in during my stay in Puebla, Mexico. It's located three blocks from the main square (I can't get Street View's "embed" function to work... I'm not even sure it's supposed to work here, even though youtube's embed function does work in stratoforum).

From wikipedia: One of the reasons Puebla was chosen as a World Heritage Site was due to the historic and cultural value of its architecture. Various styles and techniques such as Baroque, Renaissance and Classic are represented here in over 5,000 buildings included in the catalogue. The historic center is filled with churches, monasteries, mansions and the like, mostly done in gray cantera stone, red brick and decorated with multicolored tiles. Puebla is also considered to be the “cradle of Mexican Baroque” both in architecture and in the decorative arts, and one of the five most important colonial cities in Mexico.
If irony were made of strawberries, we'd all be drinking a lot of smoothies right now.

@ Stealth
actually, the quality of that photo is pretty poor cause of the weather...
however, I've already posted a pic of the same scene at dusk some time ago in summer, it's right behind our house, love that view. :)

@ Babylon

Yea my uncle just bought a house in Vallarta and he invited us to spend Xmas over there, so how can you say no to that? :D

Even tho it is not very cold in Guadalajara right now (it very rarely gets below 10ºC in the winter), I definitely prefer beach weather!

I spent the New Year's holidays at this paradise in Peru highlands, Colca river gives life to the Colca Valley and shapes the world's 2nd deepest canyon.

Image
On the way to Colca Valley, llamas at 4000m (over sea level).

The Colca Valley (view to the east)

The Colca Valley (view to the west where the canyon will form)

Image
At the top of Colca Canyon, there's 1200m deep cliff from this point (scarily beautiful)

Back to the valley again, view from one of the highest points.

One of my best New Year's celebrations ever! :)

Wow...impressive pictures and a breathtaking view.... , must have been a wonderful place to spend your holidays, though I probably couldn't have stood so near to the edge of that abyss, I'm kind of scared of hights...
