Today I want to advertise another good movie - "El hijo de la novia". Though it's hard to find it in I-net but it deserves your efforts. It's Argentinean movie, and I watched it in original with English subtitles, so I could hear the actor's voices and intonations, it was interesting. The movie is light for watching, you will laugh and cry, it will make you think about different things

It's a lovely movie . If you like that kind of movies, I recomend you to watch El Secreto De Sus Ojos (Oscar: Best foreign movie). I have to say, I'm not a huge fan of national movies, cause they mostly suck; but that one along with the one you've seen and Nueve Reinas are what I consider great moviesMorgana wrote:Today I want to advertise another good movie - "El hijo de la novia". Re: Recently seen movies
Well, yesterday I watched "Remember me" in cinema. First, the movie is positioned in a wrong way, really, the advertisement and trailer tell us about another things. You know, when I watched this movie I desided what to write in my review about... But the last three minutes made me change my mind at all. The movie is about nothing without these three minutes, it's just a nice movie and nothing more. The end of the movie makes it so stirring, and I cried just when I went back home. I won't tell you about the story, just watch it in the cinema or download it from Net, it deserves.
Now - about actors. the main actress played bad. She played a girl that lives an easy life but not a girl who was the witness of her mother's murder. It's not her role. Pattinson - well, now I can say it! - he is really a good actor. He is really cool. And I'm a bit sorry for him. I remember that after "Titanic" and "Romeo + Juliet" Leonardo DiCaprio had to prove that he was able to play not only sweet boys but serious dramatic roles. And now Robert Pattinson is in the same situation. After such famous and character role as Edward Cullen this image was sticked to him. In all reviews people compare his new role with Edward, though there are no reason for such comparison... But he is really a good actor. Now he needs time to get rid of the "Edward-image".

Re: Recently seen movies
I've watched "The Hunted Airman" with young Pattinson. The movie is terrible, it's so boring. Of course Pattinson did his best, but even his efforts couldn't save the movie. Three weak points.

I'm trying to watch The New Moon, with rifftrax commentary track of course. It is still painful to watch.

You don't have to ask about our opinions on a movie to go and watch it. It depends totally on you . Personally, at first I didn't like "Harry Potter And The Philosophal Stone", but I decided to give it a second try with "The Chamber Of Secrets", where the story began to seem interesting. Then it came "The Prisoner Of Azkaban", and I have to say if I had to choose between all HP's movies to describe the plot of the whole saga, this would be my choice; such an excellent movie. I strongly recomend to watch that one and the following 2: "The Goblet Of Fire" and "The Order Of The Phoenix"Morgana wrote:Hey, Stratoforumers, tell me about that Harry Potter, what is so cool with him, why everybody like him so much? Unfortunatelly, all the movies are related, so if you want to understand the whole plot I'm afraid you'll have to watch all of them

Re: Recently seen movies
I've watched "The Bad Mother's Handbook". Mothers, you should watch it now! Not because of Pattinson played there (BTW, he plays stupid foureyes perfectly), but because you can find some mothers' answers in this movie. Well, one can say that the movie gives the answer to a question - "How to be a good mother" )) Actors play not really good, except Rob and Holly Grainger, but in spite of this the movie chills to the bones. I recommend it for watching.

Re: Recently seen movies
@Morgana, I have been reading on several websites about a movie coming out about Vlad the Impaler. A historical movie, no vampires in this one! Several names are being batted about who to play him: Ryan Gosling, Colin Farrell and Christian Bale among them. Personally, I like Olivier Martinez, the werewolf guy in Blood&Chocolate. Michael Sheen might be good, too. Hollywood would do good in this movie unless they fuck it up with the wrong actor.
Also, DRACULA: Year Zero will be out pretty soon. It stars Sam Worthington. And this IS a movie about the fantasy Dracula.
There are LOTS of fantasy type movies coming out in the next couple years, so hold on to your hats, and save your money for these good flicks! The Wheel of Time is reportedly spinning out a movie: The Eye of the World in 2011.
Also, a prequel to 300, XERXES, is going into production soon.
Also, 2 versions of Excaliber are coming out: one possibly for TV, and another for theatre.
A miniseries called CAMELOT is scheduled to be on STARZ channel early in 2011.
So, fantasy&medieval fans, you are about to have ecstasy! I know all that news pleases me. Finally, some good movies&shows! I will have to get my satellite dish turned back on if GoT, and Camelot are on. It would be my luck they both would be on at the same time!

Re: Recently seen movies
BEG, I see that Edward Cullen and Twilight Saga revived the interest of society to vampires and so on Of course it's profitable to shoot films on this theme. It pays
Re: Recently seen movies
The society has never lost an interest in vampires. There was this little show called Buffy The Vampire Slayer, which also had a spin-off called Angel (much better than Buffy series, IMO). Now there's an HBO series called True Blood which is also about vampires who are not emo and don't sparkle ...Morgana wrote:BEG, I see that Edward Cullen and Twilight Saga revived the interest of society to vampires and so on Of course it's profitable to shoot films on this theme. Re: Recently seen movies
Believe it or not, the Twilight Saga has made a huge amount of young people to feel interested by this vampire-werewolves thing. Of course, I think that those movies are just nice but too girlish to me . Even though the plot is kind of interesting, I still prefer the Underworld Saga, don't you think BEG ?

Re: Recently seen movies
My elder friend once told me why Twilight saga is so porular among young girls (and not only young girls). When a girl is 14-15-16 year old she wants to meet a handsome guy that will protect her and wil love her forever and so on. Girls want to believe in fairy-tale, they want their dreams come true. And it's normal, it's understandable. But what do they have in real life, in their classes? They see pimply classmates that drink beer, secretly watch porno, play computer games and so on... But let's watch at elder women. What do they have? They marry and think that their husbands will be forever as handsome and romantic as they were at their first date or at wedding. But years go by and husbands settle in the couches, eating chickens and watching TV. So what can women do? They watch Twilight and see a dream alive. Edward, Jackob, Emmet and others are handsome, they have perfect bodies, they love their women and they are ready to sacrifice their lives for family, for women they love. Come on guys, look at yourselves! Wake up, go to gym, look at your women and girls - they are prettiest god's creations ever! Have you ever done something special for them? Of course many guys can answer - yes of course. But believe me - not all of you. And even not the most of you. So let the girls just watch Twilight without your silly jokes, because they want to have a hope that one day their dream will be near, that YOU will be a dream. Twilight just gives a hope. A dream.
PS: it all isn't about MY husband, he IS my hero I just tried to explain.

Thanks God you said it all wasn't about your husband
First of all, try to be happy that a man (well, teen) like me had the time to read your whole statement and understood everything you've said; many would have fallen asleep whithin the first line . And I see your point, but I have to disagree: Always living on a dream is what makes women to start beign feminists, saying that no man is good for any women (not saying you are). Also, generalizing is a way to hurt people who take topics like this too seriously; taking the time to know your partern is what every sinlge couple in this world needs, and with that there's no hot vampire dude that can deal with us

Okay, I see I'm sorry, I didn't want to hurt anyone with my words. Of course there are many nice guys on this forum, and I know some of them well But I also know A LOT of girls and women who LOVE the Twilight saga and I know WHY they love it so much... I also was 14 years old girl and I couldn't find any nice guy around me for a long - until I was about 22... So I know what I say, believe meggonza43 wrote:Thanks God you said it all wasn't about your husband

And as for me, personally, why I like the Twilight saga so much. I read about vampires a lot: old legends from all over the world, and a lot of bélles-léttres and feature films, it's a kind of my hobby. But Stefany Mayer (do I write her name right?) made her vampires absolutely different from everything that was written about vampire before! Mayer's vampires have no the key signs of vampires - and it's interesting way to imagine that vampires can exist That's why I like her saga - it's original

I've got nothing against the originality and plot of the Twilight Saga, I only said it was too girlish to me. But if you are refering to those other comments, just let them go; they don't know what they're saying

Re: Recently seen movies
I haven't seen any movie in a while, although I just finished watching a pornographic film. There were two people, both naked and loud. It looked a little low budget to me, and I never got to see the end (figuratively). The woman had a voluptuous bosom and made a little too much noise; I frankly would have preferred if she sang some John Cage instead. Anyway, that's all for now. I will keep you guys abreast* of any other films I watch.
