What a religious mix too. You have Uli Kusch, who was the only athiest in Helloween, Timo Tolkki (Who needs no religious summary), Andre Matos wearing a cross in the promo shot, Jari Kainluanen, who Tolkki mentions as having a sort of Buddhist philosophy in the interview, and Mikko Harkin, who spent most of his time after SA playing in Christian Power Metal bands.

Why not?
New band, already planning to record -> most of the stuff is probably by Tolkki, he's pretty much out of ideas since Strato selftitled -> mediocre album with lotsa talent.

Incredible. If this doesn't work for Tolkki, then I think nothing could work. And with these names, now it's all easier. Wow, what a band (if this works).

He should have made something like this two years ago. The RR thing, from the very beginning, seemed really strange and amateur.

Let's see how this works. Let's hpe to see TT again making great music and having fun. That is good for everybody.

You should read the interview on the site. Open and insightful stuff from Tolkki. Promising band so far and I really hope it stays together to the premiere show december next year...

Mikko Harkin is here?

I just remember when I said something a few months ago, about Mikko taking the Keyboards in RR... and well, here we are today.

Also, Mikko is here, and there have not been any news from Cain's Offeing in... years I think? What ever happened to that project-band-whatever?

Anyway, I think the band is just AWSOME, but I just wonder... won't they crash with each other? I mean, like a talent crash. But I'm sure Timo is aware that he can't be the only composer here, so well... we'll have to wait to see what will happen. And I hope there will be some nice quallity videos of their upcoming live performance.

Oh, and Timo looks thin

I'm just picturing in my mind the idea of listening TT's guitar skills (no mattter what I say, he's one of the best out there) with Matos' voice (I still prefer "Angels Cry" or "Holy Land" rather than "Aurora Consurgen" and MAYBE "Rebirth"), Jari's amazing bass (Lauri's also good, but Jari has hell a lot more story in Strato than Porra), Uli's mind-blowing drums (Helloween and Gamma Ray, should I say anything else?), and Miko's keyboard ("Silence" is one of SA best works, just after "Ecliptica").

TT, please (pretty please)...DON'T MESS WITH THESE GUYS :?!

Ride the Sky is kind of forgettable to me except the songs New Protection, A Smile From Heaven's Eye, and The Prince of Darkness... it's extremely pop metal, not even in a happy way, just how it sounds is very commercial. But I still bought the album.

Hopefully Uli Kusch doesn't jump ship on this project due to bad sales/reception like Ride the Sky

this really give hopes , Im so sure that this guys would make a hell of a record!! there is no chance of failure here. I expect at least a wonderful record and a great tour and maybe a dvd with a lot of extras is too much to ask for? Ill buy everything!!

I was really surprised that mikko joined, I though he was 100% dedicated to his band, and Im so glad that Jari and Tolkki work together again those two have a magic vibe, Jari was always the backbone of stratovarius. the other guys were not surprise for anybody I think.

now, this is a band I think everybody wants to see live ( sooooooo different from RR hehehe)

Timo Tolkki has lost weight which is great, though it makes my job harder.

The interview is also positive, which I like. Very refreshing!

On the band itself: the lineup is a dream come true- especially because I'm a huge Matos fan. But I still can't imagine how Matos and Tolkki are going to get along. Creative differences, personal issues, and financial issues might bring this project to a quick end.

But with good chemistry and good songwriting...this could be fantastic. 8)

Welcome to everyone's favorite gameshow, TIMO OR ROSEANNE! A show in which our contestants attempt to guess, from one picture, whether or not it is power metal guru Timo Tolkki, or comedian/actress Roseanne Barr!

First picture!

Haha, you're right!!!

Okay, first album's gonna be call:

Genesis.

The most notable song will be:

The fruit of knowledge.

Then an annoucment:

Uli Kusch has left the band...
Through the storms we've wandered
Many mountains we have climbed
But all the bad times are behind
The road is free - I'm coming home

He doesn't cycle anymore, he is into motocross these days.
They live 100km from each others. Uli likes fishing.
Funnily Mikko is the most metal guy from us all:) He loves some extremely
dark stuff.
The religious/political and dark stuff we gladly leave to present day Strato :)
We are up for a positive kick ass record.

PS. And I havent laughed so much in years like during the last weekend.
It was a very similar feeling to the Visions days Strato, as cliche it might sound :)
But it's true :)
