Suddenly Charlie Sheen's latest shenanigans aren't that interesting anymore. Seems like a really horrible situation.

Yeah, all Pacific coastline is under Tsunami alert, including my country (Peru). Classes have been suspended from schools near the coastline and all beach houses have been evacuated.

The wave is supposed to hit in 7 hours (in Lima), it's expected to be not so big, but still it's better to be safe than sorry :?

Godzilla caused this.

It's the only explanation.

Charlie Sheen could have stopped it with his tiger blood, I hear he tried to but the police wouldn't let him

The situation is very scary.

We humans are so small and powerless in the front of natural forces. But as you say it is very sensible to follow authorities advice.

I know that I saw tsunami warnings right after the earthquake, were the people of Japan able to be more prepared than in the past from tsunamis?

Yes, they all had their umbrellas out.

If this earthquake had been on land instead of at sea the destruction would have been unthinkable. Many times a bad quake like this sets up sort of a chain reaction and other quakes follow in other parts of the world(like the quake in Haiti was followed by the one in Chili, and then another). It's the 'ol Ring of Fire acting up again.

An explosion is reported at a Japanese nuclear power plant where a meltdown is feared as a huge relief operation continues after Friday's devastating earthquake and tsunami.

Watching that footage of the tsunami coming in and sweeping away the moving cars on the road was pretty sickening.

There are still aftershocks going on, so I know the people are going to be frightened for a long time to come.

The death toll is estimated at over 10,000. Many people got swept out to sea. So terrible.

Actually over 10000 are known and the final count will be at least tens of thousands and in the worst case hundreds of thousands.
