puyol?
That is about the players that were playing in this Euro. As you know, Puyol and Villa were injuried.
Curious too, that three of the four goals in the final were scored by ex-valencia players.

Well I think it was great that Torres was the top scorer of the tournament. He wasn't given many chances but he showed that they should have let him play more.

I was quite mad at how Spain played. They kept Torres on the bench had practically 10 midfielders (with their defensive line playing quite high) and at times it felt like they didn't even want to score. Usually their matches consisted of 89 minutes of sloppy and extremely boring playing and a few goals made in amazing 5-10 second parts. Out of nowhere they just score after moving the ball around between defeders and the goalie for most of the match.

That happens when the other team does not want to play FOOTBALL against Spain and just wait with the eleven players around their own goalkeeper. When other teams tries to play football and don not park their bus in the middle of their defensive line, you can see real football. In that times of the match when you say seemed Spain didn't want to score, could you please tell me what do you think the other team want it while they saw how spain pass the ball like if it was a training day?

Some stats:

Most goals scored by a team: 12 – Spain

Fewest goals conceded by a team: 1 – Spain

Best goal difference by a team: +11 – Spain

Most wins: 4 – Germany, Spain

Top scorer(s): 3 – Fernando Torres (Golden Boot winner), Mario Mandžukić, Alan Dzagoev, Mario Gómez, Cristiano Ronaldo, Mario Balotelli

Largest win:

4–0, Spain vs. Italy
4–0, Spain vs. Republic of Ireland

Most clean sheets (team): 5 – Spain

Most clean sheets (goalkeeper): 5 – Iker Casillas

Spain are just incredible. I don't think we're going to see another run like this in our lifetimes. Nobody can keep up with them, nobody has the technique and skill that they do.

As for 2014, the only countries I see winning it are Spain, Uruguay, Argentina and (possibly) Germany. Maybe Italy, but I doubt it - they'll have to find another Pirlo by then...

Unless Brazil really get their shit together by then and the home advantage works miracles.

Well, the good thing is that Spain is plenty of good young players due to a philosophy, way of training and way of feeling modern football.
Xavi said he will be in Brazil 2014 (he will be 34). Puyol won't be (he was not in this Euro), Villa will be 31, Iniesta will be 30 (really good age)but the rest are young and see for example Jordi alba, he came to Valencia B team in 2007 cause Barcelona thought that was not enough player for his team, now he is going to FCB for just 14millions€ (it is really cheap). Then, you have some amazing strikers here like Soldado (nobody understood why Del Bosque decided to go with Negredo for this Euro) and Adrian, from Atlético de Madrid. Take a look at this player this year. He was almost inside the final selection to go to this Euro.
Llorente has not played a minute in this euro, Llorente, that amazing player that Tottenham wants to buy for 30millions€. Mata, the new Chelsea star, that just played 5 minutes in the final, etc, etc, etc...I mean, there is a team for years and the ones coming are really wonderful cause this is all about a way of training and a style that comes from the football clubs, specially from Barcelona and Valencia. Everybody talks about FCB and it is normal cause they are the best, but do not forget that players like Villa, Mata, Silva, Jordi Alba and Albiol for example, came from VFC. Real Madrid players are really important too, Casillas, Ramos, Xabi Alonso...but they always decide to pay a lot for many star players like CR and then they forget what they have in their own young team.

The thing I'm seeing for 2014 is Messi. i mean, that is for me the most wonderful striker EVER with difference. Argentina will be a jewel if they can get him playing as he plays for FCB. Brazil I suppose will want to win...Dunno, it will be difficult, maybe imposible, but we'll try again. We made hsitory by winning Euro-WC-Euro. This players for me are gods of football and it doesn't matter if they can't win the next WC. I suppose the other teams will have to win too :D
