Fuck yeah! Now THIS is the album I've been waiting on. (Also some love for Elements 2, but one wish at a time).

Maybe someday they'll play all the Eternal songs? Swap out Paradise for Feeding the Fire?

YES PLEASE. I hoped they would've done that at the start of the Eternal tour but alas. Hope they'll do it on the next tour.

Poor Timo, he's going to have one hell of a time singing this album front to back 20 years later.

Still, the greatest power metal album ever recorded, as far as I'm concerned. Glad they're giving this album its due.

Can he still sing this high and have it sound good? Father Time and Will the Sun Rise have among the highest notes he ever sang. (WtSR hits a G flat 5, only a whole step lower than Koti's highest note in Learning to Fly)

I would love to hear him try!

Also, while I am on the topic, the highest note ever sang in a Stratovarius song was sung by Tolkki in Thin Ice off of Dreamspace (B5)

Would you really call it "sang"? Sounds like he's singing the B4 and then the B5 is special effects.

Highest live is probably that Gb5, in WtSR and Elements as well.

Even if he fucks up the high notes, it should still be a lot of fun for both the band and the listeners. Lauri singing backup on Father Time and Uncertainty, Timo doing one of his own songs, Babylon and Night Time Eclipse getting some love, and Stratosphere!

Also, you guys think "the Episode album in its entirety" will include When the Night Meets the Day?

One of the best metal albums ever created. My fav Strato album.

Probably not, but it should. Night/Day is a killer track.

I believe that Timo Kotipelto is an intelligent performer and the band will tune the songs in a way they sound great and are managable. Which, I believe, is a great opportunity to hear the album in a different way. Hopefully, Strato will do much better than Sonata Arctica did :) Enjoy everyone who's going to see the shows in Finland!

So, I went through most of the songs and here is a list of the highest vocal notes I could find:

Thin Ice: B5*
Tomorrow: Bb5
Dreamspace: Bb5*
Dreamspace: A5*
Reign of Terror: A5*
Shattered: A5*
Learning to Fly: Ab5
Reign of Terror G5*
Dreamspace: G5*
Visions: Gb5
Will the Sun Rise?: Gb5
Know the Difference: Gb5
I'm Still Alive: Gb5
Elements: Gb5
Freedom: F5
Awaken the Giant: F5
Madness Strikes At Midnight: F5*
Father Time: E5
Find Your Own Voice: E5
Black Diamond: E5

I did include the "Shreiks" that both singers do, which includes the pyramid from Tommow. The highest note from each is sung as a shriek (which in my books still counts). If you exclude them, the highest note is from Dreamspace, sung by Tolkki:

"No sign of life anywhere I am going Insane!"

As for Kotipelto, his highest lyric is in fact in Learning to Fly:

"Learning to fly, High above the sorrows to a new day, I fly"

So there's that. If there is something I missed (I probably forgot something) let me know.

Was not aware Episode contained this many high notes. For some reason they always stood out to me a lot more on the Elements albums.

When Kotipelto has to hit those high notes, they should have this Chinese guy back stage ready to do backups.
