It’s some old guy taking a shit and pissing in fries with cheese and then eating them. The podcast clip doesn’t show it. Got to go to some adult site to view the real video.

Question. Is it absolutely necessary to know French while residing in Montreal? Are jobs performed in French or English?

Here's another game from my childhood.

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons :: Composed by Minako Adachi & Kyohiro Sada

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4VurbyQdx8

A few songs are from (or arranged from) Link's Awakening, which was composed by Kazumi Totaka, Minako Hamano, & Kozue Ishikawa. And a few songs from Link's Awakening are arrangements of Koji Kondo songs. I'm too lazy to add track-by-track attributions, sorry. :lol:

My favorites:
Overworld (This is one of those songs from Link's Awakening which was arranged from Kondo's Overworld theme. The square channels' volumes were slightly altered in this version to be more consistent, so it is my favorite version of this double arrangement, as well as my favorite version of the Zelda Overworld theme.)
Tarm Ruins
Horon Village
Dancing Dragon Dungeon
Skull Pirates

60% of montrealers can speak both French and English, to some varying degree. All jobs that deal with the public requires you to be able to speak both languages. For jobs that don't deal with the public, I think most of your co-workers would be able to communicate with you in english.

Damn. This gives me flashbacks of having a gameboy as a kid. The Final Fantasy cover art does. I'm not even sure if I had the game. Maybe somebody let me play their game? Here is what games I had as far as I can remember. Super mario land, fall of the footclan, tetris, castelvania: the adventure.

TETRIS...you know what tetris sounds like. :lol:

These soundtracks sound so dinky to me now. Back then it was amazing and even more to use the headphones that came with it!! :lol:
These damn kids and their cellphones don't know how good they have it!! :lol:

There was also Final Fantasy Legend II and III that used a very similar cover art. If it wasn't Final Fantasy Adventure, it could've easily been either one of these two. :lol:

I didn't have any of those games growing up. I did hear the soundtrack for Super Mario Land, though. I love that song! It was composed by Hirokazu Tanaka, who actually designed the sound chips for both the NES and Game Boy. :shock: :bigok: His soundtracks are always really cool.

I like the Castlevania Adventure song a lot! Never heard it before. The Ninja Turtles one is also good.

I sometimes think if there is anybody out there who played every single FF game. :lol: From then to now. (Even new age games.) When I was a kid it was more like... I got to stomp goombas!!! So when it’s all text and shit I usually didn’t play those games! America!!! :lol: RPG games have a place, though.

Is it just me or is there a defined barrier in between retro gamers and current age gamers? I’m kind of trying to try out all games from the last years because of the steam summer sale. 5 dollar games, bud!!! 8)

I didn't play RPGs as a child, and I can't say I care much about them as an adult. Their gameplay consists primarily of a menu simulator. I've never been much of a story guy. I think a lot of the problem is that most RPGs simply aren't difficult enough and require no strategy to win. If you had to think and plan, I think they would be more enjoyable.

I will say that I really enjoyed Paper Mario and its sequel. It's incredibly cozy and the gameplay is augmented by the use of action commands during battle, as opposed to being strictly a menu simulator. The boss fights do make you have to think and strategize at a certain point. Fun stuff! :D

Interesting topic! I believe there isn't a hard cut-off year or anything. It's more a difference in philosophy on the part of the game developer. I'd define a current-age gamer as one who prioritizes cinematics over gameplay. Retro-age gamers prioritize gameplay over all other aspects.

I see this as a push to make games more accessible to a larger amount of people. The rationale is that not everyone enjoys playing a video game, but most people can enjoy watching a movie, or in this case, a movie game. I'm weird and don't enjoy watching movies at all, so I play video games to entertain myself instead. I haven't played a Sony game in a very long time. Games on that platform became cinematized far quicker than others, as that is Sony's target. Of course, there are still games produced with gameplay in mind (like most of Nintendo's games), in today's world.

I just discovered this song, it's amazing.
It's not from a video game, but this band makes some parts of their songs with a commodore 64 and gameboy.

Ys I & II has one of my all-time favorite video game soundtracks. Fantastic artwork & imagery, too, I must say. I already posted about the soundtrack a while ago, but that was in a pre embedded youtube video time period for this forum. This time, I've curated the arrangements of the tracks and linked the versions that I liked most (I've only included the tracks I really liked, by the way). For each track, the embedded one is my favorite version.

'pc88' is the original FM synthesis version for the PC-8800 line of computers, circa 1987-88. Composers: Yuzo Koshiro, Mieko Ishikawa, & Hideya Nagata.

'chr' is the in-house band arrangement made in 2009 which was used in the remake, Ys I & II: Chronicles. Mixture of orchestral and power prog. arrangments. Arranger: Yukihiro Jindo.

'pce' is the PC Engine port arrangement released in 1990. Arranger: Ryo Yonemitsu.

'sav' Special Arrange Version. Not used in any game. It is a stand-alone arrangement of the soundtrack, released in 1990. Arranger: Ryo Yonemitsu.

Feena :: Yuzo Koshiro
Ys. I opening.
pc88: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tg70RXEc2QE
chr: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1T5BAL0-l2Y
sav: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BwIbzdOGkN0

Theme of Adol :: Yuzo Koshiro
pc88: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cx4Cp37FPJw
pce: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_TgoTm0fXBM

First Step Towards Wars :: Yuzo Koshiro
Overworld.
pc88: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=47WKr2SdoXc
chr: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4InoYdBVs8

Holders of Power :: Yuzo Koshiro
Boss battle #1.
pc88: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxJX4qAWYIQ
chr: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FgA-oSaAycc
pce: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PI-YzlvHTP8

Palace of Destruction :: Yuzo Koshiro
1st dungeon. This is a god-tier song right here, folks. 'sav' version is also of note, but the solo in 'chr' takes the cake.
pc88: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rtjtTcaYWI
chr: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fM10PrpgX2s
sav: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8IA-bGQK3Oc

Beat of Terror :: Yuzo Koshiro
2nd dungeon. Fantastic atmosphere. All 3 versions are very good.
pc88: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=boQ4slllX3k
pce: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-xLS7W5vNY
chr: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xA0UwEWCxHI

Tower of the Shadow of Death :: Yuzo Koshiro
3rd dungeon #1. 'chr' wins again for that solo. The final section of the song is unsurpassed in the pc88 version, though. The deep FM-synthesis bass is fantastic there.
pc88: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2AM_dzJEm9o
chr: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ndmu55PYn8

Chase of Shadow :: Yuzo Koshiro
Boss Battle #2. Absolutely awesome song.
pc88: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ttQ_z3uMuak
chr: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MG9IA21KG2Q

Dreaming :: Yuzo Koshiro
3rd dungeon #2. Wow! I love the atmosphere of this song. Listen to both versions.
pc88: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RRDMkbQKKw
chr: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBVgZv9H4rw

Tension :: Yuzo Koshiro
3rd dungeon #3. Yet another god-tier song.
pc88: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqWkmoS2PIo
chr: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ap9k4Uv8LiI

Final Battle :: Yuzo Koshiro
Final battle for Ys. I. 'sav' & 'chr' versions have a cool solos.
pc88: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUBFvFzNRjY
chr: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PcDXyU8_ZbQ
sav: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91Z-J4Hufe4

The Morning Grow :: Yuzo Koshiro
Ys. I ending. I love this song! 'pc88' wins here because the 'chr' arrangement wasn't my favorite. 'pc88' provides the best atmosphere.
pc88: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jae8pefZcI4
chr: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_LHHtqq0tXo

To Make the End of Battle :: Yuzo Koshiro

Ys. II opening. Fantastic track! Also like 'pce' version.
chr: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BywmgopIJ1c
pc88: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G5hTLO4YptQ
pce: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJmG3KNjcEs

Ruins of Moondoria :: Hideya Nagata
1st dungeon. God-tier yet again. Love all of the arrangements. The original is a bit grating.
chr: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2M3qBu77Jjw
pc88: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GsFJBuL_Dgo
pce: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FwxyT7sXrNI
sav: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4lhz80Soqs

Rest in Peace :: Yuzo Koshiro
Both are good. Great atmosphere.
pc88: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdVhxS5ov88
chr: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUc5vicQsQA

Cavern of Rasteenie :: Hideya Nagata
3rd dungeon. Again, fantastic atmosphere, all versions.
pc88: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZQ9kaVlaHU
pce: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=82FQuVh-XGE
chr: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05azd1voSBk

Protectors :: Yuzo Koshiro
Boss Battle #1. I love all 3 of them!
pc88: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gCL5kK8udmg
sav: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSVBY5o0zbc
chr: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vrjrDDpfc4

Ice Ridge of Noltia :: Yuzo Koshiro
4th Dungeon. Lovely melody. I'm beside myself trying to pick a favorite, yet again.
pc88: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hceiCcX8zyo
chr: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2TBHcUJnlWU
pce: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5_n0By39Uo

Moat of Burnebless :: Yuzo Koshiro
5th dungeon. Again, they're all strong. 'pc88' has some nice tricks up its sleeve.
pc88: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ZgEZHHzQ1U
pce: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ys8lTI2s2OI
chr: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=noVne29OsEU

Palace of Solomon :: Hideya Nagata

6th dungeon. 'chr' & 'pce' have such different arrangements. 'chr' has a Spanish guitar vibe.
pc88: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2PdjgufLZ1Y
chr: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4pIzE1N7io
pce: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1wUyzgiJZ9Y

Subterranean Canal :: Mieko Ishikawa
7th dungeon. Love this song! God-tier melodies.
pc88: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDEsyPc7Rvk
chr: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SP9wNKVugLQ
pce: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Yx7fVFVJKM

Battle Ground :: Yuzo Koshiro
Boss battle #2. 'chr' kicks ass!!
pc88: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmwUI4T1g_s
chr: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6UxoIRi_2s

Over Drive :: Yuzo Koshiro
Boss battle #3. 'chr', again, kicks ass!!
pc88: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSJ9eITsOrQ
chr: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePuxKC7e-D8

Don't Go So Smoothly! :: Mieko Ishikawa
Another cool sounding theme. 'pce' is actually my favorite here, but 'chr' is close behind.
pc88: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R6DEuC0cdJU
chr: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-kmSGwaht0
pce: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XM9tVRr5_Uk

Termination :: Yuzo Koshiro

Final battle. One of the coolest songs I've ever heard. 'pce' sounds a little strange in the intro, but still stellar.
pc88: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HfPumhhfsA
chr: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zchCB61lm0w
pce: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hH599ShXNaw
sav: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gegx1RruQdI

See You Again :: Yuzo Koshiro
Staff roll. Not a bad version of this awesome song, either, except for the 'chr' version. They added vocals to it and ruined it for me. :lol:
pc88: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YshPK8WQKrE
pce: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNDEXHEzSIU

As a kid I loved how it started - but now some recent year I paid more attention to the track as a whole. It's pretty

In the area where it actually plays in the game you normally don't really spend longer than tiny moment, unless you want to hear more of that music
