One of my favourite bands. What the heck happened to them? Did they quit or what? Any Nocturnal Rites fans here?

Battalions of Fear is the worst BG album, but it's OK because it's the first, and not necessarily 'bad', they've just always got better. Every album shows steady improvement until Nightfall in Middle Earth, after which there's a minor drop-off to the still amazing Night at the Opera, and then divided opinions on A Twist in the Myth, before the really, really amazing At the Edge of Time.

I'd say Follow the Blind is worse, though I still like it a lot. Other than that, completely agreed. I suggest you get Somewhere Far Beyond next.

Battalions of Fear only had a few songs that held my attention. There were more good songs on Follow the Blind, as well as a few classics like Valhalla.

Blind Guardian is probably across the board the most popular power metal band ever though.

I've never liked battalions of fear but I know some die hard fans of blind guardian really praise this album, calling that album mediocre is a little bit off limits I think

Yes, this is original Russian edition and also like a new. Paid maybe 3 euros. Never seen this one for sale anywhere. The guy who sold me this maybe had more than one though. I got Polish edition of Silence last year from Ebay. Must be rare stuff too... UnOpened mispressings I've seen many lately but these two only once.

cool! we discussed the unopened mispressing a while back in this same topic, check out that if you want, it goes around 150$-ish dollars! you got a great deal for those cassettes if you get to find the proper sonata collector you might get some nice bucks for it!

Got both UnOpeneds too. Bought mispressed one for around 40 euros couple of years ago. Damn I was happy when I won that auction, and with so good price. So, I'm that collector myself, or used to be. I don't buy Sonata stuff that much anymore. I feel that too big part of my CD/LP/cassette/whatever collection is Sonata Arctica.

Now I try to find Sonata stuff for very good price only.

Anyways, to get back on track:

Sonata Arctica- Pariah's Child
Foster the People- Supermodel
Michael Jackson- Xscape
Nightwish- Once

The Nightwish album was a used one but couldn't really tell. The Michael Jackson and Foster the People albums were both bought on a whim and only had about 3 impressive songs on them. Pariah's Child was pretty good. Heard better though.

I've heard that the itunes version of Xcape went like 300$ dollars ...what the fuck!

EH?! That's shocking to me, I bought it at a music store near my house for $10. And it's not the greatest stuff I've heard from Michael Jackson :/
