Stratovarius Community

Don't get me wrong here, I really love Jari as a bass player BUT to replace a bass player in a band like Stratovarius won't make much difference to their music.

Put a crap bassist to play strato songs and you’ll notice the difference!

That was a good choice. But, is he permanent or just for the tour?

Well, from the things I've been reading, I guess he's a permanent member. Can't think of a better guy to assume this position.

Just think about it, when Tolkki wanted Anders stay permanently. Porra will stay permanently.

I still think Jari is one of the best bassists in metal. I seriously put him up there with Steve DiGiorgio and John Myung. Definately the best in Europe.

So, goodbye Jari, I respect your decision. It was a pleasure to hear you in Stratovarius, and great honour to see you on stage with them. I hope we hear you somday in the future, good luck !

Oh, just noticed the news on the main page.

Well its not THAT terrible. Jari is happy now, right? Jari never flew in the face of public opinion and never made himself any trademarks or anything. Lauri Porra can easily replace him. Just need to get used to it first, thats all.

Interesting use of the word "avert". Are you sure that's what you meant? Anyway, you certainly can continue loving him, just in a different band.

Jari was a great guy, but Lauri is maybe even better...
