These pictures are... are... are beautiful.

Yeah, it was my first major hike. Forty miles: well worth the walk. It's so amazing how everything looks once a person ventures away from the expressways and convenience stores. The spot we pitched camp on the third day was like paradise. It was so unreal, fairy tale stuff. It was at the top of a peak, a ten foot round clearing ringed by trees with a glacial stream running through it. The stream would stop running every night because it would cool down and the glacier would stop melting, and then every day it would start running again after the sun came up. On one side the whole mountain range stretched out before us, and on the other side was a path leading to that snowfield. And deer would go wandering through our campsite like we weren't even there, all the time. It was idyllic. I could have died happy there.
