To me Michi was and is the worst songwriter for Helloween. As I said I never liked his stuff apart from those 2 songs and I'm not really fond of his solo stuff either.

To me the worst Helloween songwriter is Andi Deris.

Apart from Silent Rain (due to the lyrics) I like the stuff Andi does. Okay, sometimes it is a bit more rock-like but overall better than anything Kiske has done for the band.

I disagree... But it's just my opinion.

To me Andi's songs are way more metal then Kiske's songs ever were, Andi knows how to write a metal song and Kiske just seems to want to write songs about love and flowers.

That's my opinion.

Andi writes songs like he could write for Pink Cream 69... PC69 is not Helloween...

That's not with the persons who like the first albums (Helloween, Walls Of Jericho, Keeper I & II).

I respect your opinion Florian and it's perfectly fine if you feel that way, but not everyone feels the way you do.

I also like the first albums and I like the later albums.

I didn't mean to come off as being an ass, I was merely stating that not everyone agrees with that.

This is however just my opinion, you don't have to take stock in it and can just write me off.

I like the last albums too (Gambling With The Devil is very good) but I definitely have a problem with Deris' songs. But I respect your opinion too.

I like the first albums (apart from Walls. DAMN YOUR VOICE KAI) but I still think Andi writes better songs than Kiske ever did (apart from those 2 I mentioned). Okay, maybe his songs are a big more like PC69. I don't see the problem. At least he still write metal compared to Kiske who thinks electric guitars are EVIL!

I agree with most of that, the only one I don't is with kai's voice but you and I have had that discussion before, anyways I agree that in Andi's case at least he still writes metal songs.

Seriously tho, IMO he's done some great songs since he joined the band. I think "We Damn The Night" is an awesome metal track, for example.

Yes. Michi only recorded 4 albums with them, but I always thought his songs were kinda the weakest ones... except from Chameleon I really like "I Believe" and from PBGA "Kids Of The Century".

well you can't please everyone, I also personally like Andi and everything he's contributed to Helloween however there are still fans out there who believe that Kiske should still be in the band.

So they want Helloween to only make albums like Chameleon? Because I think that would've happened if he stayed.

Godlike! Please Kai! Stop singing and get that guy into your band! So that I can get another Gamma Ray Album I can enjoy again and not turn off after the first few songs because of your godawful voice.

I think as long as Michael Weikath is in the band it will always sound like Helloween, he's what Steve Harris is to Iron Maiden

There's a difference between Steve Harris and Michael Weikath: Weiki is not the founder of his band.

Well, if you forget about the time when the band was called Iron Fist, Gentry and Secound Hell and you just count the time when the band was called Helloween is a part of the founding line-up-

Florian:actually according to most reviews,news reports and interviews, Weikath is considered to be one of the founding members of Helloween. However if you want someone who's been in the band longer well then I guess you can say Marcus Grosskopf is a founding member, he's been in since the beginning.

In this case yes, because Weiki arrived in the band in 1984 (or 1983 maybe?) but the band's story begins in 1978 (wuth Kai Hansen on guitar and Piet Sielck on guitar and vocals, now he does the same in Iron Savior).

I think Weikath is considered a founding member because him and Hansen decided what the sound was going to be for the band and what the name was going to be, Ingo pitched the name to them as an idea and they both settled on it.

When they ultimatly took the Helloween moniker they were a different band, I mean Stratovarius has a very similiar history, Tolkki is considered the founding member of the band even though he didn't come into the band until two years after they were formed by drummer Tuomo Lassila.

Thing is I don't really care about the time before they were Helloween. For me Helloween began in 1983.

I know it. Still doesn't change anything for me. For me Helloween started in 1983 when they actually became Helloween.

My favourite is Weikath but he is always drunken so he can't play wery well live. And another surprising thing that he uses and extremly thin and light pick which is unuseable for power metal.

Huh? I use extremely thin pics when playing power metal all the time and never had any problems. For me, it's much, much easier than with thick pics and sounds a lot better too.
