I think in his early days Kiske may was better at thos too. But when he had that change of mind in the years between Keeper II and PBGA, well, he somehow lost his drive.

But I really doubt that songs like Kill it, The Bells of the Seven Hell or Perfect Gentleman would sound half as good as they do with Deris when they were sung by Kiske.

That's also what I am saying, there is plenty of stuff that Deris can do that Kiske can't.

Kiske has this sort of well "set voice" you know what to expect from the guy, where as Deris can surprise you in many areas.

I think Michael Kiske is the better singer, hands down.
But I like Helloween with Deris a lot more!

It's just how I feel, Deris has a voice that's darker and fits the name Helloween, where as whenever I hear the Kiske stuff it's good however Kiske just doesn't seem like he fits in there.

Exactly. On an interview from one of the expanded edition CDs - can't remember which one at the moment - Weiki mentions how Andi sings different in each album, which is absolutely true.

I really like Kiske's voice, I think his work on Keeper II is just perfect, but like Icecab said, tone and style are more subjective, and in that case I prefer the live versions with Deris of Dr. Stein or Future World, for example. And my favorite of all the live versions I've ever heard of A Tale That Wasn't Right is the one from Sao Paulo on the Live in 3 Continents DVD.

It was on the Chameleon expanded edition, the interviewer said to Weikath that Kiske sounded much less like Goeff Tate on that album and that's when Weikath laughed and agreed, he then said "it's true but the good thing about our current singer(successor Deris)is that he sounds different on every album"
I don't think that's an exact quote but that was basically the gist of it.

Keeper of the secen keys I/II were such an amazing albums.

Nobody has to agree but I think the only real commercial album was Chameleon and even I still like that one.

Agreed on the commercial part. Helloween no is as commercial as Helloween was back then. I don't see how they're more commercial now compared to the 80s.

I know someone's probably going to slam me for this but saying Deris tunes are more commercial then Kiske tunes is like saying Journey is heavier then Iron Maiden

Like I said before, except for a few tracks, to me Michi's songs were the weakest. Nothing to do with his voice, which has always been great. But you know people like to dwell in the past and complain when a band changes. Of course they sound different now - they have different band members, but I think every line up change they've done has been for the better. But well, that's just my opinon and you're probably never gonna find me saying anything bad about them

Well, I sort of disagree. I absolutley love The Dark Ride and I still don't think that letting Grapow and Kusch go was a good move. Especially listening to the Rabbite don't come Easy album which is weak in my opinion.

Both of them extremely talented musicians but if there was no chemistry between them and the other 3 band members, then I think it made sense to let them go. But hey, now you have Helloween and Masterplan

BTW, I cannot stop listening to "Run" from the GWTD US Edition... also on the Mrs God single, if I'm not mistaken. This song just kicks so much ass!

I don't think Deris has ever released a bad album with Helloween, the only album I thought was weak was chameleon and even I still like that

crazy cat is one of my favorite helloween songs. i think its definitly one of their most original and don't know of other bands that have put swing with metal.

I still like it, I just don't think it has as many catchy songs as the others

I think Chameleon, Rabbite Don't Come easy and Ride the Sky (just because of the fucking vocals) are weak.

Sorry to nit pick once again but I believe the first album is called Walls of Jericho.

Anyhow I may not agree with you on some things but I get what you mean.

Fuck it. I also mess that up often.

it's cool, either way I think we've established that with Weikath,Grosskopf and Deris(I know this will be debated)they will always make good music
